Rob Arena
Hello my name is Rob Arena and I am currently the store manager at our Pure Hockey location in Berlin, MA. Perhaps you have seen me at some of our other locations in your travels as I have managed our Medford, MA, Needham, MA and Braintree, MA locations as well. I have worked in retail my entire career and have been in the sporting goods industry since 1993, previously managing stores for MVP Sports, Decathlon and Sports Warehouse prior to joining the Pure Hockey team.
I have played ice hockey and dek hockey since I was eight years old. Growing up in Billerica, MA I had the pleasure of trying out against hockey great, baseball legend and Billerica native Tom Glavine before unfortunately not making the "cut." After high school I played in several mens leagues and also played a lot of dek hockey for many years. I have been married for 13 years to my wife Tammy and we have 2 wonderful boys, Cam, 11 and Kyle, 8. Both boys love sports and now it is my turn to live through them as they experience the ups and downs of winning and losing games. I have helped coach their ice and in-line hockey teams in addition to their baseball teams and this spring we will give lacrosse the old college try.
I am so passionate about hockey that I build a small hockey rink in my backyard each winter for all the neighborhood kids to use and get away from the tv and video games for awhile. We will be posting more info and pictures of the rink in our upcoming Pure Hockey newsletter so check it out, I would love your feedback. If you are in the Berlin area and need a great skate sharpening come on by the store and we can talk hockey while you wait, I take my coffee hot and regular!!!
