Rated 4 out of 5 by from Grading incomplete. First Helmet I've bought in over a decade to replace my trusty old CCM that fell apart from age. I've been wearing this for about a month. This one fits nice, and is plenty comfy, but as far as safety it's hard to judge seeing as I'm an adult not playing in a checking league. My only complaint (so far) is that the little pads (not the foam main padding that actually protects your skull, but the ones that adhere to those for comfort... not sure of the technical name) aren't stuck on very well, and I've had to re-stick them with a silicon adhesive. For 100 bucks, I'm not expecting the thing to stop bullets, but Bauer could've done a better job with the glue.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solid Helmet But Poor Padding This helmet is safe and solid which is to be expected from a top manufacturer in this genre. Others have mentioned this and I will too...the soft padding inside is a complete design flaw. The adhesive used to bond it to the stiffer padding underneath basically comes unglued. As a result you are left to readjusting the pads after each game/practice. On top of that, the adhesive will smear and get in your hair. I bought two of these helmets for the kids and the problem is consistent. I would expect much better from BAUER after spending over a hundred bucks each for this lid...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but not great This is a pretty solid helment, but its not great and not much of an improvement over the 5500. I have been really happy with my 5500 and bought the 7500 simply due to availability. I wasn't expecting miracles, but as the higher numbered replacement, I was expecting some improvements. There are a few changes, but they are minor and do not add to the performance or functionality of the helmet. The only potential upgrade I can see is that the vents are reconfigured and slightly bigger. This hopefully will lead to better ventilation, but I have no complaints about the 5500. In summary, if you like the 5500, you'll probably like the 7500 too. They're essentially the same.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits wider heads I just got this helmet. Will be trying it out this weekend. It's a medium. My last helmet is an RBK 6K Large with a med bauer cage. The RBK 6k medium was too narrow for my head and I had to move up to a large. The only problem is that it moves a bit back to front and sits low on the brow. The Bauer 7500 in a medium fits nice and snug. No movement. I'm asian so I had a tough time finding a helmet that wouldn't put pressure on my temples. The Bauer 7500 fits really well. The NBH 8500 also fit, but it's much more $$. I tried on a lot of helmets. From all price points. The construction is very similar to the RBK 6K.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth it I bought the helmet about a year ago and early on I really like it, then after a month or so of games the padding started to move around a little, then after a couple more months the padding started moving around a lot more, now after every game before I can get home from the rink all of the padding is lying in my helmet bag waiting for me to put it back on like I'm building Lego's with my 5yr old, I would not recommend this helmet it's a major pain in the but and takes for every the get the left over glue residue out of your hair

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good helmet Having suffered several concussions over the years a solid helmet is a must for me. This helmet definitely delivered. It is light weight so I dont really even feel it on my head, and it fits perfectly. I tried the rbk 8k helmet and the easton s19 and neither fit my head right. This one fit perfectly, and I realize this is preference. The protection seems pretty good thus far, havent gone head first yet but with this helmet I am not really worried about it if it happens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's ok This is defiantly not the way some of the reviews say. You defiantly know you have it on. The sizing chart is right though. If you wear the correct size hat to your head or take the measurements right they are right on. As being said the only helmet I have ever worn that you could not feel it on your head was a Jofa. I don't even see them any more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from they didn't have any in stock so they ordered a helmet from a different store (the people who helped me were great). It came in a few days later & i picked it up on my lunch break. When I got home I opened up the box & looked at it only to find out it didn't have any screws in it. There was also scuffs on it & it looked like it was a used helmet

How does the Bauer 7500 helmet compare with the 9500? In terms of protection, is one better than the other? Helmet is for a 11 yr. old.

Asked by: TK19
The 9500/9900 seems like overkill for an 11 yr old. It is a little bigger and clunkier with more plastic than the 7500 - 1.96 lbs vs 1.17 lbs. That's a small weight difference, but may be noticeable to an 11 yr old. I would rate the 7500 as very adequate. It is very well designed and well built. The strong plastic outer shell and foam core inner shell provide plenty of protection and adds soft gel pads at the pressure points. Overall, I am very happy with my 5500 and 7500 (essentially the same) and would recommend it to others.

Does the facemask the 1500 in size small fit this helmet and which other helmets in small?

Asked by: Anonymous
The 1500 Face cage should have no problem fitting on any Bauer helmet as long as you have the correct hardware.
