Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great look, great fit! Bought this helmet for my 6 year old son about a month ago. Fantastic that he could potentially use this helmet for three seasons. Great feature that the helmet can be made larger to grow with the child, beats having to buy a new helmet every year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit for my 3 year old! My 3 year old has a pretty big head for his age, measuring 20.5". I was worried whether this helmet would be a good fit, but also have a little growing room. It fits great and he does have room to grow! It's lightweight for a little guy and looks great too. It's also adjustable without needing any tools. You just lift the clamps on the sides and slide the helmet to adjust as needed. I'm very happy with my purchase from my local Total Hockey store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great helmet for little heads at a great price Both my boys are wearing prodigy helmets. The helmet fits small heads. I have a 5 year old and a two year old. the helmet fits both children and will keep them protected for a couple years of growth. There's not a bunch of bells and wistles, but they have the protection they need at this age.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too small for 5 year old Great helmet but small. The listing doesn't state head circumstance. I assumed a youth size would be fit my average-sized 5 year-old. Had to return it for a regular Small helmet and that's a snug fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great helmet for our 6 year old! Had it for about a month and it fit great and seems to be a safe helmet...not worrying about my kids melon splitting open on the ice anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent helmet for toddler Bought this helmet for my 4yr old twins for ice skating lessons and it fit well. One has a smaller head and it adjusted great to size and fit great. I was extremely happy with this purchase.

Which is smaller youth or xs size

Asked by: Lace44
For the Prodigy helmet there is only one size. We call it Youth here, I assume other places may refer to it as an XS.

correct size for a head circumference of 21.5-22"

Asked by: Annabelle
The Prodigy helmet's max size would be approximately 21.2", so it might be too small. A small in most other Bauer helmets should fit the size range you've provided fairly well.

My son is 9yrs old, his head measures 21 1/8inches. Is this the size helmet he will need?

Asked by: Btruran0403
A youth helmet sounds small. You may want to look at a standard helmet.

Prodigy or Lil Sport?

Which helmet would you recommend for a brand new skater who is 3 years old? The Bauer prodigy or the Bauer Lil Sport? He's just skating now. No sticks and pucks for some time.
Asked by: mls1934
Any youth helmet should do the trick. At that age, it's mostly about what's most comfortable to the skater.

Which helmet is better?

I'm looking for a new helmet for my son. He has a Bauer 2100. I was looking at the prodigy. I was wondering which one is better. Also how big does the prodigy extend to?
Asked by: Lyme
Great question! The helmets will actually be very similar. One advantage the Prodigy might have for a young player is the tool-free adjustment.
