Bauer Supreme S190 Hockey Skate

Bauer's skate technology continues to be among the most innovative and influential in the industry, and the Supreme S190 is an excellent example of the prowess they've displayed over the last few decades.

You'll likely recognize the Curv Composite boot, the question is - have you experienced the unreal stiffness/weight it offers yet? Because it just got better as its return comes in a slightly modified form. TheCurv Composite is now aluminized during the production process, an infusion of aluminum results in an even lighter frame than before without compromising durability, performance, or responsiveness.Additionally, the Supreme S190 features a flexible tendon guard, which allows players to maximize their stride and range of motion without the resistance of a traditional guard.

Holder and Runners

The return of Tuuks Lightspeed Edge Holderwill be welcomed by many, and an improvement for those who aren’t accustomed to the added 3mm of height they offer in adition to Bauer's proprietary quick and easy trigger release system. Slotted into the Tuuks is Bauer's LS3 Steel, which will be a welcome improvement at the rink and the pro shop. LS3 is a taller version of the standard LS2 runner that offers a higher angle of attack, and more steel to sharpen. Naturally this translates to a longer life for your steel, making it perfect for players who want their steel sharpened before every big game.

Bauer's Hydra Max 2 liner serves as the moisture management system in the Supreme S190s and is further supplemented by the integrated wear pads that Bauer has strategically positioned to ensure you're skates aren't in shambles at the end of the season. The guts under the liner are composed with lightweight heat-modable memory foam pads, that combine with the FORM-FIT+ 52/40 oz felt tongue to provide a supple and secure interior. Finally, the footbed is Bauer's FORM-FIT+ Model, which features stabilizing grip, moisture management, and an HD heel cup to unsure your feet are secure and comfortable from heel to toe.

SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, amazing. Recently went to the Bauer Own The Moment shop in Bloomington, MN to get fitted for new skates. I've had a pair of Vapor X30's that I got back around 2009 or so that have been showing their age lately. I wear a size 11 shoe and the Vapors were a 9D, they always felt great, no problems but recently I've been thinking about sizing down as low as I can go, based on a rec from a friend who is an elite level player. After chatting with the guy at Bauer, telling him about my level of play, and what I was looking for, he brings me out these skates in a size 7.5 D. Left foot fit great, right one hurt a little, so he brought me a 7.5EE. They fit perfectly. They actually have a little rink in the shop for you to test gear (if you can get to one of these shops, they are amazing), so I skated on a pair of 1S's in the 7.5 EE, they felt awesome. Here are my points to this post. Sizing down 1.5 or 2 sizes from your shoe size is not always the best move. I wear an 11 shoe and now wear a 7.5 EE skate, after wearing a 9D skate forever. Go get fitted if you can. I don't live in MN, but was there for the holiday and wanted to go to the OTM store for this specific purpose. Great skates, I'm still breaking them in, but so far they feel great, no pain in my feet after the 2nd or 3rd skate on them, and the pain I did have the first couple of times was minimal at best. I wanted something higher end and was willing to pay the price, I plan on having these for a long time and I'm on them 2-3 times a week, plus as I get older and my legs slow down I wanted something light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic My 13 year old son raves about Bauer skates. He was thrilled that the S190 was easy to break in and comfortable. As a mom I’m thrilled that he broke these skates in, in less than five days. Thank goodness I didn’t have to hear the complaints of pain as I used to hear years ago about other brands.

Which new Bauer skate is the most similar to the MX3, including in terms of its weight (710 grams) and stiffness? It doesn't sound like it's the S190. Does Bauer ever bring back "old" skate lines that were or remain popular (like the MX3?  Thank you.

Asked by: JB66
The new high end Bauer supreme skate would be the 1S.

Tell us the difference in blades between LS3 & LS4. Also what is the weight of the S190 in grams.

Asked by: Christian Lindgren
The S190 in a size 8.5EE weighs approximately 830 grams. The LS3 and LS4 are the same height and rocker profile, the LS4 just has a a different steel material making it lighter and more durable.
