PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Bauer Vapor 1X Composite Stick

The latest installment in the history that is Bauer hockey sticks is the Bauer 1X, born out of the Vapor line. The Vapor 1X is the culmination of all of Bauer's best stick technologies, new and old. It features the classic Vapor, low kickpoint, but also sports a new and improved look, as well as an all-new taper system from Bauer.

Bauer Vapor 1X Stick Features

Bauer is consistently modifying and developing their stick technologies, looking for any way to improve performance. The Bauer 1X stick is the newest stick of their Vapor line and you will see that Bauer has updated the design several ways. The first and most obvious upgrade is Bauer's new Quick Release Taper Technology (QRT) which is a different look from year's passed. This taper from Bauer is aggressive to increase your shot quickness, giving you the ability to get off a wrist, snap, or even quick slapper with little effort. Bauer's Aero Sense 2 Blade is featured on the 1X, and this Sense Layer is fused to the actual TeXtreme composite of the blade to eliminate materials and lighten the weight of the bled. Just like in previous Vapor sticks, the 1X will feature Bauer's Pure Shot Blade Profile which describes the thickened hosel area that is meant to give your shots more support by eliminating the torsional rotation of the blade during a shot.

RATINGS & REVIEWS

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Amazing Stick, Awful Durrability I got this stick this past September, and I played games/practices with it for a month and a half. The stick broke on a fairly weak slash, and it was 10 days outside the warranty. I bought a new one to replace it about a week later or so, and that one only lasted another 40 days (just over warranty). All the other players on my team who had this stick at the beginning of this season have already broke at least one. I have never really had a problem with Bauer sticks breaking in the past, and I doubled my total of broken sticks in just over half the season. If you can afford to buy at least three a year, its a great stick, but if you cant, don't waste your money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Shot, Bad Value As you already know, this stick is too expensive for the casual hockey player so I will jump right into it. The Vapor 1X is designed for the Ovechkins of the world. This stick has the best low flex point of any stick I have ever had. Amazing accuracy and shot speed. The blade feels very solid when shooting snap and wrist shots but feels a little stiff when stick handling and receiving passes. If you are a defensemen you can stop reading this review now. This stick was designed to be as light as possible and gives up all durability while doing it. It was chipping apart from the first skate. I'm actually surprised it lasted a month and a half(3 skates a week). Unless you play Juniors or higher where you can get sticks for free or on the cheap I would avoid the Vapor 1x.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great stick, bad durability I bought this stick around May, it amazed me the first time I used it, has a tremendous amount of "Pop". I have used many top of the line sticks throughout the years and this lives up to its expectations with its QRT technology, this twig gave me the quickest release off my shot. Has a really dampened blade which gives it a great feel for the puck, slappers come off nice and crisp. Stick feels well balanced in your hand, and can't ask much more for performance. Only problem is durability. I broke one in July and Bauer was nice enough to send a replacement after the warranty time frame. Had the replacement stick until last night it broke, pretty disappointed in bauer for making a poor durability stick, but if you can pull out $300 for this stick to last 4 months then its well worth the cost as it will perform the part.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bad durability My teammate had this stick from the release date until February 23. He played 6 games with it. He occasionally takes slap shots to dump the puck. The rare time he took a slap shot in the zone at net, the stick broke low on the shaft. Our hearts broke along with the stick. Even though he had the warranty, this stick broke what seemed like it was too easy with an 87 flex.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from FRAGILE!!! Sons have used top end Bauer sticks for over 10 years and this is the first one that has broken - twice (both times after only 2 months). Bauer has been unwilling to stand behind a clearly defective product and assist with replacement beyond ridiculously short warranty window (especially for a $300 stick).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase I've owned a lot of sticks, but this I think has been the best so far. It is extremely light and has a very sensitive touch for stick handling. I used to own a ccm superfast and I would say, even though its listed as lighter, the 1x is about 20 grams lighter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great stick overall This stick is amazing for wrist shots an snapshots. I love the soft feel and how light it is. But this stick is not very good for clappers, and playing midget and high school hockey you need a stick that is versatile in all shots. Overall great stick!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great stick, but won't last long 4 months of use by a 12 y.o. player, broke at the bottom-part of the shaft, about 10" from blade on a slapper. 12 y.o. player should not be able to break this stick after 4 months, period. Performs well but does not last to justify the price.
