The Bauer Vapor family has always been a top seller. The Bauer Vapor X900 Skate is only one small step down from the premier Vapor 1X skate. New features include Bauer's LS3 Steel and an updated version of the X-Rib Curv Composite Boot, which has been aluminized. Bauer introduces some of its industry-leading technology that has been teased in the Bauer OD1N Project. The first benefit we find from the OD1N project is right here in the boot of the Vapor X900 hockey skate. Carrying over from the APX2 is the TUUK Lightspeed Edge Holder.

Bauer Vapor X900 Hockey Skates Features

Our OD1N Technology in the Vapor X900 hockey skate boot, which not only features a tweaked X-Rib molding pattern, but it also features an Aluminized Curv Composite that, because of the aluminum layer, is now the lightest boot Bauer has offered! The X-Rib pattern has always been designed to maximize support and stability and has now been tweaked to better lock your heel and ankle in place. The Vapor X900's improved heel and ankle lock allow you to turn even tighter and crossover quicker for better acceleration. One of the bigger changes from last year's Vapor line is the new LS4 steel which is taking the place of LS Fusion steel. LS3 Runners come stock with the same familiar radius found on LS2 and LS Fusion, but with 3 mm of additional height. Feedback from their Pro athletes saying that elite-level players are looking for a taller, higher quality steel that will hold an edge better and provide a greater attack angle spurred this switch. The added height also improves the longevity of the runner and allows players to customize the profile without significantly diminishing the sharpening life. LS3 was designed to fit all those parameters.

SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome skates I play/coach 3-4 times a week, and I wore Graf's for 15 years. Due to the lack of availability to find Graf's in my area, I reluctantly looked at Bauer's. I thought about the mid-level x700 or x800, but after trying on the x900 and seeing some of the features (the tongue's plate to protect against lace bite, weight, stiffness), I decided to reward myself and pay the premium. Baked these skates and I can say I can feel a huge improvement in every stride. The L3 steel certainly takes some getting used to; I felt like I was driving a sports car that is far more responsive than the minivan I had been accustomed to. If you play as much or more than 3-4 times a week, I would highly recommend the x900's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Skate for ME! Always wanting to try Vapors but not being able to in the past due to my foot type best fitting Supremes, I was in the market for skates and tried on the Supreme MX3 as well as the 190's. To my surprise, they did not fit the way the prior models did. So I gave the Vapor a try and JACKPOT! They fit. I'm a believer in quality but at the same time I'm not one to spend more than I need to. In fear of the injected lacing system accidently being ripped from a skate during play and that being the end of my what would be large investment I decided to go with what I know and was use to which was the traditional lacing system with eyelets. The 1X only had a couple features that the 900 didn't have, however I figured it wasn't enough to sway me to them. The 900's were comfortable out of the box however after baking them they felt as if they were custom made for my foot. The Curv composite is amazing in how it wraps around your foot while protecting it at the same time. The heel lock is the best I've had since the old Easton S15's. And best of all I didn't need any break in time with these. Side note. I ordered the new Speed Plate insoles for these, however after reading some not so positive things about them I went back to what I knew, which is the Superfeet (yellow) insoles. My feet are in heaven. These skates are amazing and well worth the price. In the end I feel as though I won. They are very light, protective, well made and extremely comfortable. If you have the money to get the 1X good for you. However do yourself a favor and get these. With the extra money buy a stick or something else to add to your bag. You wont be sorry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Skate Bought the skate after skating in Graf's for years. Perfect for a narrow foot with a light feel

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome skates I bought these about a week ago and couldn't be happier. I am a beer league guy that has been skating with a pair of Eastons for the past 12 years. Those boots started to breakdown very bad this year so I needed an upgrade. I was able to get the x900 with a good discount and love the performance. What a difference these are compare to my old skates. I feel much more explosive and quick. They are very stiff so it did take a little getting used to. All and all a great skate, especially with the discounts!

I have an oooold pair of vapor 60's, do these new vapors fit the same way? My pair are wides, since i have a larger fore foot but my heel is more narrow and many skates are loose in the heal for me. thanks.

Asked by: rts1
The Vapors will fit pretty much the same -- narrow heel, shallow depth, widening a little in the forefoot, but an overall tapered fit.

When comparing to Vapor 800 specs say 800 is not as wide as the 900. Is this for tightness of fit?

Asked by: Dick
The vapor X800s will be similar in fit to the X900s. The X900s will be a little bit more stiff than the X800s but the width of the skates would be comparable.
