Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing skates One word. Wow! I'm blown away. I've skated every brand of skates. I grew up on Missions. Switched to Bauer and hated them. Tried Rebook pumps and hated those. Fell in love with Grafs but they broke down to easily and didn't have enough protection. These 6092's are incredible. I had them baked and sharpened at total hockey. Got on the ice a few days later. I had trouble getting used to them for the first 5 minutes I was on the ice. They don't lean forward as much as I'm used to and the radius was a little different. I also had to skip the top eyelet since the skate were so stiff. I don't have a very wide foot. Slightly wider then average and the skates fit like a glove in a standard D width. No hot spots or anything. I took a puck to the boot and barely felt it (something I'm not used to with my grafs). The support throughout the boot was amazing. I was nervous switching to such a stiff skate but I have no complaints. The runner and attached steel was nice. I felt like I turn much sharper. I don't know if that had a thing to do with the blade radius or with slightly taller holder on the bottom. I'm extremely impressed by how light they are. I could really feel the difference. Not sure if it's coincidence but a team mate said "man, you're flying out there today!" Must have been the skates because I have changed nothing else. If you're in the market for a new skate I'd highly recommend this skate.

What's the main things u lose dropping from the ultra tacks? Also does this new model have any new tech over last year's top tack skate

Asked by: Shockey
The main difference in the Ultra Tacks and the 6092 would be the blades and the boot construction. The Ultra Tacks will have a slightly more advanced runner in the SpeedBlade Black making it quicker and longer lasting. The Ultra also features the AttackFrame 2 carbon composite boot which will make it stiffer and more durable over time. The Ultra Tacks does offer some new tech over last years top model. The main improvements are in the boot construction and the liner material, both improved to keep your foot dry and keep the boot as stiff as possible for the life of the skate.
