Last year Easton debuted a brand new product line with their Mako skate. The focus of this skate was on pure speed and a maximum range of motion. This year, they have made advancements on that skate and are introducing the Mako II! The quarter package is unique on the Mako II, featuring an inside edge that is 5mm taller to provide extra support when cutting or cornering. The outside edge, being 5mm shorter, provides full extension and increased stride frequency. The pivoting Extendon Tendon Guard allows the player to get the maximum amount of power out of their stride by allowing a full range of motion. When it comes to heat molding, there isn't a more responsive boot out there. These skates need more than DOUBLE the time of a standard skate baking, but it's worth it when they fit like a glove afterwards! On the bottom portion of the skate you will find Easton's CXN holder and ES4 Staniless Steel. The CXN holder sit taller than a traditional holder, giving you more power out of every turn, and the ES4 Steel comes with a 9' radius on it. The Mako was a revolution in the world of hockey skates. The Mako II has taken that revolution, and improved on nearly every aspect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pair of skates! I had to buy these skates five days prior to my 9 year old son's tournament up in Canada. I was already nervous about him breaking in new skates five days prior to his tournament but as a Bauer faithful, this would be the first pair of Easton skates my son would wear. From day one, he moved very well and would only talk about how much he liked his new skates! My son is on the ice 6-10 hours a week and he seems to like them better every day! Don't know how long they will last but so far the best skates he's owned and he's gone through quite a few pairs of skates!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort, Comfort, Comfort These skates replaced our Reebok 20K skates. My son was complaining the Reebok's were hurting his ankle and we realized there was too much volume which resulted in too much play in his foot that was causing his pain. The Reebok's worked great for my other son who has a wider foot. The Easton skates felt great the moment he tried them on. Have them bake them before trying them on. I am not aware of another skate that you can do that with. Easton also offered a 30 day money back guarantee which allowed us to try them on the ice and in a tournament and I have had ZERO complaints from day 1. The Easton Mako II skates do seem like they are more of a narrow skate but that may be because the baking allows them to literally wrap around the foot unlike any other skate we have seen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features This is my son's second pair of mako2s, They are built with top of the line materials. Very stiff skate, with aggressive stance. I really think they helped him skate better and turn sharper. They seem to hold a edge for a long time he's on the ice 5+ hours a week. The only gripe I have is that they would be a little lighter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easton Mako II fit like socks! Baked these boots and they were so soft and formed like socks on my son's feet. It took some practice getting them on and off because they form so close. He just loves them. Goodbye Vapors for now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent junior skate This is a great quality skate. My kids really enjoy playing on it. My daughter insisted on getting another pair when she outgrew the last one. It is not inexpensive, but it is top notch.
