Bauer Vapor 1X Composite Stick

The latest installment in the history that is Bauer hockey sticks is the Bauer 1X, born out of the Vapor line. The Vapor 1X is the culmination of all of Bauer's best stick technologies, new and old. It features the classic Vapor, low kickpoint, but also sports a new and improved look, as well as an all-new taper system from Bauer.

Bauer Vapor 1X Stick Features

Bauer is consistently modifying and developing their stick technologies, looking for any way to improve performance. The Bauer 1X stick is the newest stick of their Vapor line and you will see that Bauer has updated the design several ways. The first and most obvious upgrade is Bauer's new Quick Release Taper Technology (QRT) which is a different look from year's passed. This taper from Bauer is aggressive to increase your shot quickness, giving you the ability to get off a wrist, snap, or even quick slapper with little effort. Bauer's Aero Sense 2 Blade is featured on the 1X, and this Sense Layer is fused to the actual TeXtreme composite of the blade to eliminate materials and lighten the weight of the bled. Just like in previous Vapor sticks, the 1X will feature Bauer's Pure Shot Blade Profile which describes the thickened hosel area that is meant to give your shots more support by eliminating the torsional rotation of the blade during a shot. To top it off, Bauer's traditional GRIPTAC grip coating gives you an unreal connection to the stick, giving you the best puck feel possible!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Broken I picked up the 1x about 2 months ago to this day, it was a fantastic twig until it broke 2 days ago :( I noticed a small crack forming towards the center of the shaft, I figured no big deal until it broke then realized it was cracked right in half at the same spot of the crack. Dont get me wrong it was a fantastic stick just not worth $280 for 2 months. Overall I don't think ill be purchasing a stick that will last 2 moths with no warrantee left.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stick I've been using Easton for the last 5 years or so. This year I bought the CX and wasn't impressed, I still wanted the low kick so I went with the 1x and loved it. The puck is on net 100X faster than with any other stick I've used. Absolutely amazing puck feel and passing is accurate as well. Plus the silver and white looks sick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from super light from my previous sticks i never really noticed how heavy they were till i used this one. its light feel and and puck control is insane as an upgrade from entry level sticks it really is worth its value so far its durability is holding up. if you like a light stick with a nice lift this will fit you fine

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 1X Review I love the looks of this stick! The only thing I hate about it is the QRT. In my opinion, that will help to break the stick. It is the same as the V9E. Why would they do that? Also, it seems heavy, because it weighs in at 440 grams. Overall, I would recomend this stick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stick Flat out love this stick. My only major concern is that because of the bottom of the sticks shape and design, it makes things like taking faceoffs and catching hard passes difficult. It feels as if the stick sometimes breaks when doing one of these actions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Stick This stick is great for forwards or D. The blade adds a lot of pop to your shot and the puck feel is unreal. It is a little heavier than the apx2 but its more balanced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've never used anything like this before Going from entry level composites straight to this, I almost felt like I needed a heavier stick because I wasn't doing enough work. It's crazy nice. Crazy light. Really is a different experience. I have noticed the shell of the stick holds up much better than any of the other composite sticks I'm used to using. Most of those had chips after a game in the toe and lower shaft of the stick from fighting for pucks or defending. Not so with this one. Got the P92 curve 87 flex. I cannot believe how much my shot and passing has improved. I can actually feel the puck like it's in my hand. QRT really works! I can rip shots much faster than with my other composites. I've also noticed my slapshot improve greatly. the kickpoint is a bit higher up on this than my other sticks and that helps me stay more upright while doing about mid waist to shoulder height wind ups. The hand positioning is much more natural for me (6'0", about 215lbs). I knocked two stars off for value because, really, a nearly $300 stick is hard to justify for a novice player. If you really want to up your game in a league, which I plan to this spring, it may be worth it to get a season out of it. I was initially concerned about the silver, but it really isn't all that flashy. If anything, it blends in like the gray camo on the bottom of a fighter jet - almost changes colors to match what's behind it. I'll be hard pressed to go back to a cheaper stick in the future. Really, a great twig.

When choosing a blade pattern it has p92 and p92 lie 5, is the lie for the pattern that just says "p92" lie 6?

Asked by: hockeyjack4
Yes, if the pattern does not specify a lie 5, it will be a lie 6.

Is the flex on this stick a little more whippy than others?

Asked by: Puck93
Technically speaking, the flex rating will be pretty much the same. However, the low kick point and slightly thinner shaft profile could make the stick feel like it has a little bit more of a whip than some others.

Length

How long is it? Very important to know for flex reasons if I cut it ,which I probably will.P.S. you should list length of all sticks in the specs.
Asked by: brimc
The Vapor 1x is 60 inches.
