The Bauer 4mm Vertexx Replacement Cowling features a 4mm Tuuk Super Stainless Steel runner as well as the popular VERTEXX cutout. Because of the VERTEXX cutout and the taller support position, goalies can appreciate a 28% increased attack angle when compared to a standard goal cowling. This means that goalies can take a deeper stance, and keep the blade on the ice longer when pushing laterally, before the cowling "bottoms out" on the ice. The runner on the Vertexx cowling can be easily replaced by simply loosening the screw at the toe of the blade. The Bauer cowling are sold in pairs with the steel attached.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Changed my game I switched to these cowlings form traditional Bauer cowlings and the difference is night and day. The taller posts make lateral movements - both on your feet and in the butterfly - sooo much easier. I won't ever go back to cowlings with lower posts again.

Are these compatible with Nike Bauer Vapor XXX boot?

Graf and Bauer Cowling the same size?

will change the cowling on my Graf G7500 to the Bauer Vertexx, but i now wich ist the correct size? Graf and Bauer different Sizes(Graf 81/2(269mm) and Bauer the same or smaler or taler)? with kind regards from austria

You can boot a Graf boot in a Bauer cowling. I would consult with whoever is doing the install to find out the best way for them to complete the task. Typically you would go with the same size.

graf skate with bauer

I have a graf 5500 goalie skate and i want to put a bauer cowling on it,will it fit? Also is the boot stable enough for a lower cut cowling? My skate is a size 8,what size cowling would i use?

You can put a Graf boot on a Bauer High Step Cowling. It does take a bit of an adjustment, but it can definitely be done. We recommend taking your skate to a certified Total Goalie Skate tech.

I have five year old CCM vector skates, and would like to put these cowlings on them

Yes, the problem with putting new style cowlings on old boots in the lack of ankle support. Many of the old skates had high inside cowlings giving the goalie support. Now skates have low cut cowlings are reinforced boots for added stability. Putting a soft leather boot in a low cut cowling won't give you much ankle support.
