Bauer Supreme S170 Hockey Skate

Bauer's Supreme S170 Hockey Skate brings explosive power to the table in a package that's durable and lightweight to boot.

3-D Lasted Lightweight Tech Mesh wraps the boot of the Supreme 170, and delivers a super stiff and efficient quarter package for the last model before the introduction of Curv Composite.

Holder and Runners

Tuuk Lightspeed Edge Holderis an industry staple, featuring a proprietary quick release trigger system for effortless blade changes and an an added 3mm of height for a more aggressive stance. Slotted into the Tuuks is Bauer LS1 Steel, which have been the standard for Bauer's steel for years.

A Hydrophobic Microfiber liner wraps the innards of the boot, and protects the thermoformable upper from the moisture that will inevitably saturate your skates. The guts under the liner are composed with lightweight memory foam pads, that combine with the FORM-FIT+ 48 oz 2 piece felt tongue to provide a supple and secure interior. Finally, the foot-bed is Bauer's FORM-FIT+ Model, which features stabilizing grip and moisture management to ensure you're footing is never unduly compromised.

SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect skate! I bought these skates just a few weeks ago. They are an amazing value for the price. I'm new to the sport, and these skates are night and day different from what I was using when I first started. They are light, supportive, protective, and really comfortable. I never thought hockey skates could be comfortable. I feel like my skating has improved a ton since making the switch. I would recommend to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Skate! I am an adult getting back into hockey for the first time in almost a decade. I just bought a pair of these, heat molded them, got them sharpened, and hit the ice. I have to say, after years of just using thrift store skates to play with, these feel absolutely AMAZING!!! I can go so fast, stop real fast, and the turns are so sharp and controlled. They are extremely comfortable, even for the first time skating with them. Typically there is a rough "break-in" time, but these feel great after 1 heat molding and 1 skate session. I just got through 2 hours straight of hard skating and I barely have a tiny blister, which was probably due to my cheap socks. I can't say much for the durability because I haven't owned them very long, there are a couple parts that feel kind of cheap (tongue mostly), but they are SO comfortable! No lace bite or rubbing or anything! I am technically a beginner at hockey since I haven't played since high school (almost 10 years ago), and even then all I played was goalie. I am about to get involved in the rec leagues here as a player, and though these might be a little higher end than my skill and play level, I think they are great! Comfortable, nice stiff boot which gives me great control! Hands down, best skate to buy in this price range!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from World-class experience! Mike is the best! I was struggling to find a pair of skates that would be the right blend of comfort and price. Mike at the Kirkwood store spent lots of time with me. When I had to order it online, the only next step was to bring them to Mike so that he could help with the insert needed, heat molding them to my feet and then guiding me through the entire process. I wore them for the first time yesterday and love the skates. I appreciate all of the patience, tolerance and guidance from Mike. He gets it! Thank you!

Hi,  My son is playing in midget aaa level.  Is Bauer Supreme S170 good for him? Thanks

Asked by: Hockeymoms
These skates are something to consider and you may also want to look at the next model up, the S180, too. Those would be my two suggestions for skates. Thanks!

What would be the major differences between the Nexus 7000, Nexus 8000 and the Bauer S170? They're just a couple hundred difference in price, but can't tell from the description. I'm a novice player in a beer league.

Asked by: PJBrake
The Nexus 8000 was the previous year's top of the line model. It has pro-level composite construction, a higher end liner, and upgraded steel among other small differences. The Nexus 7000 will have many of the same fit characteristics, but will lack a few of the bells and whistles, as well as the pro composite construction. The S170 is a mid/lower price point skate that will use a tech-mesh construction. It will not have quite the performance or durability that the 7000 or 8000 has. Also, the Supreme line does have a different, more anatomical fit profile.
