When you wrap your hands around Bauer's Vapor APX2 Composite Stick, you want to feel the curves of the shaft as close to your palms as possible. With the APX2 Gloves, you will be closer than ever before.

Bauer designed and engineered its top-of-the-line gloves to mirror the feedback provided by young, elite players in the game today. When your hands slide into the APX 2 Gloves, you'll truly feel the emphasis Bauer put on comfort and durability, as well as the ability to develop a more lightweight glove.

This was accomplished mainly because of the use of triple-layer Aerolite foam throughout the construction of the gloves. Thermo formable foam was also placed on the backhand pad of the glove and the thumb features a three-piece, free-flex lock that results in steady overall protection without weighing down your hands.

A tapered fit, the APX2 Gloves feature three-piece index fingers and free-flex cuffs. Your fingers will be allowed to move more fluidly, giving you improved reaction time and an impressive ability to better stick-handle up ice.

The inside liner mixes Thermo Max with 37.5 technology, a Bauer exclusive, which is a fast-drying moisture management system that will make you wonder how you ever played without it.

All the facets of your game have never been so comfortable for you yet so dangerous for the opposing team.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great gloves, but palms need redesign I bought these right after they came out, almost a year ago. They are very comfortable, light, and offer stellar protection (I took a shot off the back of my hand and didn't even feel it). At first, I almost bought the Nexus gloves because I'm used to a more loose feeling, but after I broke these in, they offer a great balance of loose fit through the wrists and cuff, but a snug, comfortable fit in the hands. My only complaint is the palms. I hold the butt end of my stick in the palm of my hand, and because of that my right palm always gets a hole in it. With other gloves, this takes a few seasons since the palms were always one piece. With the APX 2, it took less than a year. This is because of that rubber triangular pad and the stitching around it. All of those seams were simply pulled too much, and it's ripped the leather. I really do love these gloves, and it kills me that the right palm has already started to go. I hope that for the Vapor 1X(?) gloves, they go back to a one piece, reinforced palm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pair of gloves I went in to Total Hockey knowing that I wanted the APX gloves not the APX2 gloves but after trying on the apx gloves I realized that there was not enough cuff room and that the APX2s was a perfect solution. The gloves are a bit bulky but overall I love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and extremely comfortable These were on an absolute massive sale and I'm glad I got them when I did. The APX2 glove offers superior protection while providing maximum comfort and mobility. The Aerolite foam does an amazing job at absorbing vibration through the stick for those massive slap shots and preventing your bones from rattling. The APX2 glove also features a free flex cuff to allow bending and twisting of your wrist in any direction so you can accomplish those fancy deke moves and tricky wrist shots. The fingers move around very nicely and I can independently move each finger from the rest. They are incredibly lightweight and very comfortable. The free flex thumb prevents the thumb from being over-extended but still allows you to move your thumb in any direction. The palm offers a lot of grip and prevents accidental slip along the shaft of the stick. The 37.5 technology works pretty well, my hands tend to sweat pretty easily and even though some moisture does tend to collect in the glove, a few minutes in front of a fan and it's completely dry. The taper around the wrist prevents air flow from easily entering the glove so I need to force air through it in order for it to dry well. I'm a bit obsessive when it comes to making sure my equipment doesn't stink up, especially when it's top of the line equipment so odor and bacterial control is important to me. I generally run between a 14 and a 13 but for the APX2 I sided with the 13. For the Supreme line-up, I go with the 14 because it's more snug and anatomically fitting. The APX2 glove is not a tight fit and can easily be slid on and off, I'd say the taper is what keeps the gloves on and from slipping off me. It really comes down to your style of play and what's comfortable for you, even though I'm a bigger fan of the Supreme gloves in terms of comfort, the APX2 offers more mobility, less weight, and enhances my game more than the Supreme line up for offensive, quick, and agile maneuvers.

Significant Difference over the APX?

I bought a pair of Vapor APX gloves just before the APX2s dropped. I haven’t worn them yet, so I’m wondering if it’s worth it to exchange them for the APX2 set? Is there that much of a difference between the two model years?
Asked by: RobC
The main differences between the 2 would be the APX2 gloves have Triple Layer Aerolite Foam padding (double for the APX), the palm material is Ax Suede Quattro + (Techniflex for the original) and offered in a few more color options.
