The Bauer Vapor X800 stands at the gateway to the elite Vapor skates and offers a broad array of high-end, elite-level features that will impress serious skaters, especially at its price point. The upgraded quarter package, liner, and tongue add to a high-performing skate built for quick, elite skaters.

  • Tuuk LightSpeed Edge holder for trigger-quick blade replacement
  • Pro TPU outsole for increased stiffness and energy transfer
  • 3-D Lasted Curv Composite quarter material for increased stiffness and thermoformable customization
  • X-rib design for increased heel stability and overall rigidity
  • Flex-lock tongue with injected center foams for comfortable protection

The Vapor X800 features the popular Tuuk LightSpeed Edge holder. Its popularity is based on Tuuk’s innovative trigger release that allows skaters to swap out their blades in seconds for more time on the ice and less time languishing on the bench, tinkering with a skate. The edge holder is also three millimeters taller in both front and rear posts, so skaters can get even farther over edges without bottoming out.

The Tuuk holder is connected to the X800’s Pro TPU outsole. The TPU outsole includes a center indentation for increased stiffness and energy transfer through the boot. The TPU supports Bauer’s 3-D Lasted Curv Composite quarter package material with greatly increased stiffness and thermoformable abilities. This year’s X800 is even more thermoformable than last year’s model, a nice upgrade. This year’s skate is also very light and includes the Vapor signature X-rib rear design, which promises more support and stability while increasing stiffness and overall rigidity to the quarter package.

The tongue is an upgraded Flex-lock 48-ounce, white felt three-piece, offering a better, more anatomical fit over the foot. It includes high-density, injected center foams for excellent impact protection, and to guard against lace bite—a common problem with low-volume skates like the Vapor. And the tongue in this year’s X800 is a little more flexible and forgiving, allowing players to maximize their stride extension for increased power.

The Lock-Fit dual-zone grip liner is a little more abrasive than other liners, helping to lock down the skater’s foot, but with a slightly softer feel in the bottom portion. Beneath the liner lie dual density ankle foams, very soft to the touch, that will mold to the foot with the Curv Composite quarter material. The footbed in the X800 is Bauer’s Form-Fit+ Grip bed with heel cup, to keep the foot securely planted inside the boot. The heel and toe feature a grippy, tacky texture that provides traction, helping prevent the foot from sliding.

The Vapor X800, like all Vapor skates, is a low-volume skate. If you have a narrow forefoot or a shallow heel, the Vapor is the Bauer skate that offers you the best fit. The X800’s customizability and performance features are sure to make an impression on the Bauer enthusiast looking for a new pair of affordably-priced, high-performing skates.

SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow Awsome skates, I'm a newbie to skating in general and I'm so glad i made the decision to pay a little more money for quality. At first I bought the cheapest you could get in store and disregarded the pros at the shop telling me to pay more. My loss, so please listen to the guys at the shop.... they aren't trying to run a sales pitch on you to buy the "expensive"(but quality) to get a commission... they are just tired if seeing people make the same mistake time after time. Learn from my mistake. Last point I'd like to make is that the team at ProHockey are wonderful and super supportive. I will be sure to reccomend them. Thanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great out of the box feel Wore these skates once and felt like I had been skating in these for months. Had gotten 1s skates and was sold skates that were a size too big from a different retailer. Got aweful hematomas just above both ankles. Had to get new skates and certainly didn't go back there. found Pure Hockey and got great advice. Picked up a pair and haven't had problems since. Great skate. Comfortable and heat molds wonderfully. Amazing quality for reasonable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Switched from Supreme One.8 I have a narrow foot and have been in Supremes since I was a kid. Wow, what a difference! These Vapors are fit my foot perfectly. The insoles are throw-aways (as are all in my mind). I threw in the Bauer Speed plate and the fit is perfect after just one bake. Highly recommend if you prefer a snug fit in the heel and mid foot with a decent sized to box. They aren't cheap, but won't kill you either. As a 32 year old beer leaguer I'm looking forward to the next decade in these Vapors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love These Skates Bought these to replace my Bauer Nexus 600 (which I should not have been sold BTW). These Skates are awesome. Put Superfeet in them and hit the ice. I have started playing again after many years away and play twice a week in them. Great feel, love the blades, Great heel lock, nice and stiff. No foot pain due to proper fit and no foot fatigue. Highly recommend if you are looking for a mid level skate (pricewise) with high end features!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great skates! Just picked these up today and I gotta say these skates are awesome. Even though I'm still breaking them in after just 2 hours on the ice I can already tell a difference with my skating. They are SUPER lightweight and allow me to make quick, razor sharp turns. Just gotta get used to the stiffer boot since I am upgrading from last year's X600s. Not only do these skates perform well but they look absolutely sick! Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bauer 3D Footscan right on the money! Coming from Supreme 190’s my son was never crazy about the fit. We had to have the boot punched in several occasions. Bcuz of this I decided to take my son to have his foot scanned by Bauer’s 3D scanner at Pure Hockey. The scanner was right on with the size and skate type. My son is thrilled with how his new Vapor X800’s fit. He loves the heel lock and fit. He said he never wants any other model. And that the Vapos almost feel as if they were custom made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best skates I've ever had I really enjoy these skates. I have pretty wide feet, so it is sometimes hard to find a comfortable boot that will allow my toes to breath. The EE width on these are great and the boat is super stiff. I'm very glad I got these skates.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Start Last skates were Vapors, so the fit has been great. Have skated on them for 2 games, not baked, and they have been great. I swapped out the standard insoles and put in smartfeet greens. No problem.

Want to get the Vapor, but unsure about sizing for this skate. I'm a women's size 6.5 in most shoes with a wider foot. What size do you think I should get? I'd rather go with the seniors since I'm an adult, but I don't think they come that small?

Asked by: Jess 41114
Sizing online is quite tough! If you are local to one of our stores that is going to be the best option. If you're not local to a store I would expect you to be in a junior size skate. There is typically a 2-3 size difference between women's shoes and hockey skates. No way to be 100% sure unless we sized you in person but I would expect you to need at least a size 4.5. Thanks!

Contemplating on buying these x800’s. What would these skates be comparable too? The ‘16 1x’s?? Maybe the apx2 skates??

Asked by: Buch
These skates would be more comparable to the X900 '16 skates
