Last year Easton debuted a brand new product line with their Mako skate. The focus of this skate was on pure speed and a maximum range of motion. This year, they have made advancements on that skate and are introducing the Mako M8 Ice Skates! The Mako M8 Ice Skates are second to only the Mako II in Easton's skate lineup allowing you to get top-level feel and features, without the top-of-the-line price! Like the Mako II, the quarter package is unique on the M8. It features an inside edge that is 5mm taller to provide extra support when cutting or cornering. The outside edge, being 5mm shorter, provides full extension and increased stride length. The pivoting 'Extendon' Tendon Guard allows the player to get the maximum amount of power out of every stride by allowing a full range of motion. When it comes to heat molding, there isn't a more responsive boot out there. These skates need more than DOUBLE the time of a standard skate baking, but it's worth it! In regard to the bottom portion of the skate, the CXN holders sit taller than a traditional holder, giving you more power out of every turn and stride, just like it's predecessor, the original Mako.

SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

How durable are these skates? ive had a pair of easton skates fall apart after a month before. I play at 225 pounds and need a skate that will last

Asked by: bryce C
It's tough to give a blanket answer for a skate's durability, as many factors play a hand in the durability/eventual breakdown of a skate. However, you might find that a skate with a bit stiffer of a boot holds up better over time.

last 3 seasons I've worn Bauer Nexus 800's. my feet are regular width (slightly narrow) and they're swimming in the front half of the skate, up to the toe. I've read a lot of good things about the Mako M8. Is this a logical next skate or a downgrade?

Asked by: Knight81
The Nexus 800 and the M8 will be completely different skates with extremely different fits.

Can you put the light speed edge holders on these

Asked by: Bricks
Yes, but the holes will not line up. This will also void any warranty.

what is the difference between easton M8 and Mako 2 skates

My son loves his M8's and he had them all of last year but may need a bigger size. Is there a big difference between these 2 skates?
Asked by: Markus
The Mako II will have an upgraded boot liner and tongue material. It will also use a carbon composite boot construction as opposed to the glass composite boot construction in the M8. However, the feel and fit profile of these two skates will be the same.
