The shell design from Hyperlite is carried over in the HyperLite 2 as well as the Freeform Adjustment System. This technology provides three tool-free adjustments to independently alter the length and width of the helmet for a personalized fit and has become a staple in Bauer helmet fitting. The HyperLite 2 helmet continues with the Small/Medium and Medium/Large sizing covering a wide range of head sizes. Along with the Freeform Adjustment System, Bauer has added a new Occipital Lock on the back of the helmet, creating an elite-level fit that keeps the helmet securely on the head. 

The biggest addition to the HyperLite 2 helmet is the GX-Pod. This padding technology is made up of 3D-printed units strategically positioned in areas most frequently affected by impacts to maximize energy absorption. The GX- Pod is expertly engineered by the Bauer R&D team to mitigate energy impacts with a structural formation that adapts to every kind of impact. The GX-Pod will also shear to mitigate energy from rotational impacts. In addition, the GX-Pod allows for maximum airflow.

To go along with the GX-Pod, Bauer has grouped air channels inside the liner, allowing a player's head to always stay cool, which is key for accelerating recovery time. The air channels are built into the new Defense Cloud Technology liner to provide the most comfortable fit in an elite level helmet.
