In the world of elite-level hockey helmets, Bauer’s Re-Akt 200 ice hockey helmet has got to be one of the rulers. Full of meaningful upgrades, the Re-Akt 200 has been overhauled to provide even better impact protection for the aggressive player, and is now 25% more protective than the Re-Akt 100 or any previous Bauer helmet.
- Updated single lock adjustment system for greater temple protection
- Fit Plate technology for a custom occipital lock
- Moisture channels to direct sweat away from the eyes
- VN and VTX foams for enhanced lightweight protection
- Next Gen Suspend-Tech liner for linear and rotational impact absorption
- Molded side foams for extended gap protection
- Strategically located ventilation for excellent airflow
The shell on the Re-Akt 200 has been slightly updated with a single lock adjustment system that allows the helmet to expand and contract. And the player with an eye for aesthetics will love the helmet’s new sleek and slightly sculpted look, with eye-catching front-to-back venting that provides superior airflow.
The helmet’s interior is where Bauer focused most of its attention on upgrades, giving the Re-Akt 200 a host of new features. The Re-Akt 200 liner now includes Bauer’s Fit Plate technology, the same technology as Bauer uses in its premium Speed Plate footbed. When baked, the Fit Plate provides a custom occipital lock at the back of the helmet for a near-perfect fit. The new Re-Akt 200 also includes additional adjustment pieces designed to eliminate any protection gaps at either temple, whether the helmet is expanded or contracted.
The liner features a base layer of VN foam, a high-density material with a layer of dual-density foam on top of that. The helmet also includes moisture channels that will help direct sweat away from the player’s eyes. Finally, the Re-Akt 200 comes with Poron Xrd pads—the most protective foam Bauer uses.
The Suspend-Tech liner has also been updated. The Next Gen Suspend-Tech is mounted in multiple locations, helping manage the energy of both linear and rotational impacts. The base liner is an updated version of Bauer’s VTX material—similar to EPP foam but more lightweight and protective.
It’s no surprise, or it shouldn’t be, that top companies are paying attention to the all the concern about concussions and head-related injuries. It makes sense that Bauer would seek to invest time and energy into its helmets. And lucky for the players—the Re-Akt 200 offers a high-tech array of padding and fit adjustments designed to provide the best protection a player can get.
