The 2018 Bauer Supreme S27 is an excellent all-purpose ice hockey skate just right for the enthusiast in need of a little pond hockey competition, or who enjoys spending family time at the local rink. The anatomical fit, combined with several key features, makes the S27 a fantastic value for the skater looking for some premium quality at an affordable price.

  • 3-D Trueform tech PU quarter package for sturdy, customizable fit
  • Hydrophobic microfiber lining and memory foam ankle padding for dry comfort
  • FORM-FIT EVA footbed for comfort
  • TPU outsole for torsional stability
  • Tuuk Lightspeed Edge holder for trigger-quick blade replacement
  • Tuuk stainless steel blade for affordable durability

The S27 includes many features sure to garner approval from in-the-know skating circles. The S27 makes use of the Tuuk Lightspeed Edge holder. Tuuk’s Lightspeed Edge holder is the most popular edge holder in the NHL thanks to Tuuk’s quick-release trigger system. With the Tuuk Lightspeed you can swap your steel out in seconds, keeping you on the ice and off the bench.

The stainless steel runners on the S27 offer excellent durability for a mid-level skate. Joined to the TPU outsole—a slight upgrade over the S25’s TPR outsole—this skate boasts a moderate stiffness that’s great for players just developing their stride and who would benefit from a little more torsional rigidity.

The quarter package on the Supreme S27 is the 3-D Trueform tech PU which is 3-D injected for an anatomical shape right out of the box. Bake them, and skaters will enjoy a perfect, custom fit even before they hit the ice. The S27 has a slightly more flexible tendon guard than the S25, allowing for better stride extension for longer, more powerful strides.

The S27 includes a 2-piece, 48-oz. felt tongue made of thick foam. The tongue center is outfitted with a high-density, injected metatarsal guard for excellent lace bite protection.

The Supreme S27 boot ankle features thick memory foam pads. The large heel helps lock the skater’s foot in place to reduce the energy loss associated with interior foot slippage. The HD microfiber liner is both soft to the touch but also effectively wicks moisture away from the foot for a fit that’s dry, secure, and very comfortable.

The footbed in the S27 is Bauer’s Form-Fit EVA. The Form-Fit EVA uses a mid-density foam that results in excellent comfort.

A size 8 skate weighs 792 g., making it lighter than other comparably-sized mid-level Bauer offerings in the Nexus and Vapor lines. The entire Supreme line offers a medium-volume fit. If a skater has standard height and width in their heel, midfoot, and forefoot, the S27 should be an excellent choice.

Bauer’s Supreme S27 offers a welcome array of elite-level features on a durable and high-performing mid-level skate sure to bring the recreational skater years of reliable, comfortable use.

SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving these new wheels! Decided it was time to upgrade from my recreational skates. I thought using the Bauer NSX would be appropriate as I play for a low key league. Over time, I went from breaking in the skates to destroying them. So far, my Bauer S27s are great! It has the stability I need as well as fantastic comfort after baking them. One piece of advice is to absolutely try the skates on in the store. Walk around and bend your knees. I almost got a pair of skates that were too small. Bending my knees reminding me that a 7.5 was needed and not a 7.0. If you have relatively wide feet, you should consider going with the Supreme line. Currently wearing a 7.5 EE and it fits way better than my 7.5 D in the NSX. If you can afford these skates you should absolutely get them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great skate for a value price I recently needed to upgrade from my 10 year old Supreme One90's and found the S27's by chance. I don't play competitively anymore but I do play rec games and men's leagues and of course pond hockey so I wanted a decent skate that could handle my aggressive take off but that didn't break my bank and the S27 is perfect. It has a boot that is stiff for solid protection and support but flexible enough to have a comfortable stride. I had mine baked and it really formed to my foot; the first skate on them they were a little stiff and my feet hurt a little but by the end of the skate they were as comfortable as sneakers, some skaters may want to upgrade the insoles for more support as the standard are pretty basic. One feature that really sold me is the Tuuk Edge quick release system, it's nice knowing I can change to better steel or can have a quick swap if the stock blades ever break or get too worn. If you are worried that these are just another cheap, low grade skate don't, they are a very solid, mid level skate that have some nice features and are aesthetically pleasing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from excellent- love the sturdiness and comfort bought a couple weeks ago- upgraded from ribcors and glad. they fit my feet so much better, and the staff in darien of course was very helpful with the foot scan, leading me to the right skate line and size. my posture is better, and my back does not hurt as much anymore after an intense shift of play. the blades are excellent, and i'll definitely upgrade to the blackedge runners after they wear out ( whenever that is.) boot is rigid and the toe cap is hard as a rock. good mid-level skate for mens league or a good, competitive recreation- level style of play. I give them an 8/10

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stiff, comfy Great level of stiffness for the price and has a very soft cushy foam inside to go along with amazing ankle wrap. The holders are very nice and easy to stitch between blades. Lacebite guard is nice, works better than expected. Very good level of proformance for the low price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable I bought these for my 8 year old. Got them baked and he wore them for practice the next day. He skated like the skates have been broken in for months. I was very surprised at how comfortable they were being brand new. I would highly recommend these skates. If your child complains of other skates being tight fitting on the sides, buy the Supreme line.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Skate for Limited Time The boot on the skate has come apart after about 8 months of wear. In the 4 years my son has been playing I have never seen a boot that has fallen apart like this. The ankle piece has completely broken off. We’ve been buying skates because he’s grown out, but this is a first and I will not be buying these again!

What kind of blades are the Tuuk stainless steel? LS2? Or isn't it a LS blade to the LS holder? And how to bake them?

Asked by: 12345
The steel on these are below the LS2 when it comes to general performance. Blades can be easily changed with the Edge holder so no need to worry about that. As for baking, make sure you bring these to a pro shop that can do it for you. We cannot recommend that you do it at home as that will void the warranty. Thanks!

What are the baking instructions for this skate

Asked by: twhite21
there are no baking instructions for the Bauer Supreme S27 Ice Hockey Skates - Senior . If you bake the skates at home you void all warranties for the skates . It is only recommended that you bring to a hockey shop that has the special skate boot ovens to properly bake skates .

is the length of the blade the same length on the size 8.5 as the size 9’s? i have size 9 and i bought 8.5 and i feel more tippy front to back feeling like the blade length is smaller

Asked by: ckenny
Your size 9 skate would have a longer blade than the 8.5 skate. The holder size will stay the same between the full size and half size. What I mean by that is an 8 and 8.5 skate will have the same size holder. Thanks!
