The 2018 Bauer Supreme S29 Ice Hockey Skates are constructed for performance-level on-ice execution. The Supreme S29 is the perfect skate for the aggressive enthusiast looking for maximum performance but who doesn’t want to shell out maximum dollars. Their anatomical fit, combined with key upgraded features, helps increase overall power for an explosive stride.

  • 3-D fiber composite+ quarter package for durability
  • Form-Fit+ thermoformable technology for stable, custom fit
  • Tuuk Lightspeed Edge holder for trigger-quick steel replacement
  • Memory foam ankle padding for stability and reduced power loss
  • Hydrophobic grip microfiber lining for superior grip and stability
  • Composite boot and outsole for improved torsional stiffness

The S29 includes many upgrades over the S27. The boot itself, which is already very durable, offers a bit more flex than the S27, allowing for maximum potential in the skate without breaking down over time. The quarter package is a 3-D fiber composite+ material which is 3-D injected for a great anatomical fit right out of the box. Fully thermoformable, this skate promises a great wrap over the foot for a customized fit before the skater even hits the ice. The tendon guard in the Supreme S29 is more flexible than in other Supreme models, allowing for a full extension through the toe-snap process.

The outsole on the S29 is a fiber composite TPU material. When combined with the full-fiber composite boot, this skate allows the aggressive skater to experience improvements in torsional stiffness—the outsole and boot’s twisting action—a feature sure to be much appreciated by players who know their stride and push the limits of their skate.

The 2-piece 48-oz. felt tongue in the S29 is both thick and comfortable, with a high-density reinforced metatarsal guard. One of the biggest upgrades in this year’s S29 is the lace bite guard. Made of high-density foam, it offers superior protection. Thick memory foam ankle pads help lock in the heel to reduce power loss when striding. The lining material is a hydrophobic grip microfiber. A little more abrasive, it has more texture than liners in other skates, to help grip your foot. The S29 footbed utilizes FORM-FIT+ technology with a stabilizer grip. This tacky texture, when combined with the liner and memory foam ankle pads, provides incredible security and stability.

The LS1 stainless steel runner on the S29 provides better edge retention and overall durability. The S29 also uses the Tuuk Lightspeed Edge holder. The Tuuk Lightspeed Edge is the most popular holder in the NHL today because of the quick trigger system that allows skaters to swap out their steel in seconds.

The S29 is a little heavier than the S27 because the skate is constructed with more material that offers better high-end performance. All skates in the Supreme family feature a mid-heel pocket, catering to mid-instep and ankle wrap requirements, perfect for the skater with average foot dimensions.

Bauer’s new Supreme S29 packs a lot of technology into a small space. The aggressive, elite skater looking to maximize their power with an anatomical boot can rely on the S29 to boost their game to the next level.

SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from S29 I have been wearing these ever since they were realeased. These skates are stiff and comfortable. (also offers a great stiffness in the tendon guard). They also bake very well. There are two things that I wish Bauer would have done differently. These do jump in at the third skate in the line and I wish that Bauer would have given us better steel than LS1. I also feel that the insoles are very flimsy, I also have a mid arch which makes my feet cramp up sometimes. I am looking to get the Bauer Speed Plate 2.0 insole. Other than those two things, these skates offer elite level performance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perform Well I've been on very old (20+ year) skates that I finally decided to replace, playing senior/no check weekly. These are not suprisingly a much different experience. Stiffer, supportive, and noticibly improved my skating. I'm still in the 'break in' phase though, having only skated on these a few times, and some foot discomfort from pressure points exists. Nothing I'd say is troubling, and I did have them baked, they still need to get a few more hours on them to feel as comfortable as my old skates did. Took a few pucks to the feet off shots, protection was good. Local Pure Hockey shop staff helped with baking/sharpening, discussing radius options, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My son loves them so far.... Obtained a pair of these a few weeks ago from a local dealer, my son has skated on them for the past week and loves them. He is coming out of the Supreme 180's and says these are more comfortable as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge Upgrade from the S150 I help coach youth hockey and play every once in a while, originally had the S150 entry level skates. Anyways, decided to spend some money on some better skates and they are a huge upgrade. Especially the ankle support and feel on the ice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Upgrade from entry level skates I'm an older player just getting back into the game after many years and decided to upgrade from Bauer Vapor Express. I was considering some mid-range Vapor's that were on sale and went to the store to get sized. Bauer has a sizing system that electronically scans your foot to put you into the correct size. Due to my high instep and arches, it recommended the Supreme Line. The S29 was at a good price point for my level and frequency of play. Pure Hockey thermoformed the skates and they are the most comfortable skates I've ever had. After using twice, I am really happy with the rigidity and comfort level. My right skate was a bit loose and I took back to Pure Hockey and had them re-baked, no issues. I think the sizing system is key to get the right fit as much as the technical features. Definitely recommend a boot that can be thermoformed also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice, comfortable skate My first pair of skates were Bauer 160s. They were very good entry level skates, but since they were wearing out, I wanted to upgrade a bit without breaking the bank. I had my feet scanned and the S29s fitted and baked at the shop. I just took my first skate to break them in but the break-in really wasn't needed. I skated for two hours and never felt a single bad pressure point - not one!! I was very impressed with how well these skates fit and how comfortable they are. When I get a quality pair of foot beds to put in these skates they will be Awesome!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bauer Supreme S29 Switched from the Vapors because I needed a bit more width in the forefoot. After trying on several different skate widths and models the S29 had the best fit. I took the superfeet and aftermarket runners from my old skates and placed them in the S29s. Beyond the better the fit the skate seems to improve my stride. Have about ten games on them.

Any lace bite issues with these skates ?

Asked by: Dan127
Lace bite comes from fit issues. If your instep depth is greater than the depth of the skate you will run into this lace bite issue. As long as these skates fit your foot correctly you should have nothing to worry about. Thanks!

If I want to bake the S29's myself, what temperature and for how long?

Asked by: Ryan McNasty
Please do not bake your skates at home, bring them to a pro shop. Baking your skates at home will void the warranty so consider that before proceeding with doing it. Thanks!
