The Bauer Vapor 2X hockey skates include many high-end features and technologies and are a great choice for the player who skates 3-4+ times per week and fits best in a low-profile model.

  • Low-profile design for an enhanced fit
  • ACCELFLEX System for high performance
  • Aero Foam+ padding for improved comfort and fit
  • Lock-Fit liner for high-end durability
  • Tuuk Lightspeed EDGE holder for a locked-in feel
  • Tuuk LS3 runner for long-lasting edge life. Junior skates under size 4 come with LS2.

At Pure Hockey, we understand the importance of finding the right skate for your game. When looking into a new pair of skates, it all starts with fit. If you’re unsure about which skate line is best for you, or if you’re looking for an accurate measurement and assessment, visit your local Pure Hockey store. The Vapor 2X skates are a low-profile design, ideal for players with low-volume foot measurements. And Bauer implements their ACCELFLEX System to produce an excellent fit and feel for this low-profile skate.

New technologies in the Vapor 2X include an asymmetrical toe cap and quarter construction. This toe cap design, also used in the top-of-the-line 2X Pro model, reduces the volume of the skate for an enhanced low-profile fit, while also allowing you to improve your push-off with each stride. And the asymmetrical quarter package provides added support for more agility and quickness.

Another innovation in the Vapor 2X is the Recoil tongue. This three-piece, 48-oz felt tongue includes an exposed injected metatarsal guard for added protection, while the entire tongue design offers an excellent combination of comfort and flexibility.

Inside the boot, Bauer includes many key technologies to keep your foot comfortable and locked-in. For ankle padding, the 2X includes Aero Foam+ memory foam which wraps your foot in comfort and is very thermoformable for a personalized fit. And Bauer’s Comfort Edge padding provides even more comfort while also delivering enhanced ventilation through the skate.

The Vapor 2X also includes Bauer’s Lock-Fit liner and Lock-Fit footbed. These technologies complement each other by offering great comfort and support, while also ensuring your foot stays secured into the boot. With your foot locked in place, you will experience improved striding throughout the game.

Attached to the boot is the top-end Tuuk Lightspeed EDGE holder. This advanced holder system includes a trigger mechanism to easily switch out a damaged or broken blade. To do so, pull the trigger on the holder to unlock the blade, them remove it with your hand (using a towel as a buffer), pliers, or the Bauer-provided tool. Insert your new blade until it clicks into place, and you can get back on the ice. This system not only makes this switch an easy process, but it also tightly secures the new runner in place. By preventing any excess movement of the blade, you are able to maximize your transfer of energy while skating.

In the Vapor 2X, Bauer partners the Lightspeed EDGE holder with the Tuuk LS3 steel. This premium, high-grade runner provides a long edge life and an added 3-mm in height for long-term performance. Skates under size 4 will have the LS2 steel.

The Bauer Vapor 2X skate is an excellent option for players who want a top-end fit with elite features, giving them a high-performing skate at a great value.

SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

I currently am using size 8.5D x800's with LS5 Steel and speed plate 2.0 insoles. My question is this...how would this skate compare to the x800? Any noticeable upgrades other than the toe box? Thanks.

Asked by: Jay95
These feel like they are a half step up from the X800 model but doesn't quite fully replace the X900 skate. You would notice some additional stiffness but it wouldn't be as much as you would get if you went from X800 to X900. The materials are similar and these would be a great replacement to the X800 skates. Thanks!
