The Bauer Vapor X2.7 hockey skates are a great option for the weekly player who is looking for good comfort and performance at an excellent value.

  • Low-profile design for an enhanced fit
  • COMFORTFLEX System for an improved feel
  • One piece 3D Polycarb quarter for more flexibility
  • Memory foam padding for added support
  • Microfiber liner for good comfort
  • Tuuk Lightspeed EDGE holder for improved striding

When purchasing a new pair of hockey skates, it is important to focus on fit. If you’re unsure which skate line and model fits your foot best, or if you’re looking for an accurate measurement and assessment, visit your local Pure Hockey. The X2.7 offers a low-profile design, ideal for the players with low-volume foot dimensions. This design is enhanced through Bauer’s COMFORTFLEX System, offering an improved overall feel by using some good technologies.

A key feature in the Vapor X2.7 is the One piece 3D Polycarb quarter package. This construction offers a good fit in the ankle and heel to secure your foot without sacrificing comfort, while also providing more flexibility and a lightweight feel.

Inside the boot, Bauer combines memory foam padding with a Microfiber liner. The memory foam is strategically placed in the ankle area to wrap the foot in quality comfort, while the liner provides good support and some added comfort as well throughout the hockey skate. At the bottom of the boot is Bauer’s Form Fit footbed for good support and the feel you’re looking for. And at the top of the skate, a 40-oz. two-piece tongue with an injected metatarsal guard offers even more comfort, protection, and added flexibility which will help enhance your agility on the ice.

The X2.7 includes the top-of-the-line Tuuk Lightspeed EDGE holder. This holder includes a trigger system which makes switching out a damaged or broken blade quick and easy. Simply pull the trigger on the holder to unlock the blade, them remove it with your hand (using a towel as a buffer), pliers, or the Bauer-provided tool. Insert your new blade until it clicks into place to complete the switch. And because the trigger system secures the blade into the holder, your energy transfer from the boot, through the holder, and into the runner will be maximized for enhanced striding. Attached to the holder is Bauer’s S stainless steel, offering good blade durability for this price point.

While there are certainly benefits to purchasing a higher-end model, especially if you’re looking for more technologies to help your performance, the Bauer Vapor X2.7 skates still offer quality features that will give you the comfort and flexibility you need.

SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Skate review These skates are amazing. The shape, design, texture and feeling. I ordered a size 8.5 and width EE. When they got here a week later, I tried them on. They heel side were comfortable, the applied pressure to keep the ankle steady. The only problem is that the toe side is a little wide. A lot of movement with my toes, but I still like it. The cushion kept my whole foot comfortable and warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satisfied Bauer x2.7 skates are a perfect fit for my son who is extremely picky about his equipment. We must’ve tried on a dozen pairs of skates and the staff was very patient and understood how important this was to get the right fit . We were able to match his kneepads elbow pads and chest protector to complete our purchase . Would definitely recommend a shopping the store rather than on line before you make a purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good choice for entry-level skates These skates are very comfortable; they have a good fit and provide solid support without being too rigid. They feel like they run true-to-size and the price was reasonable for the kind of quality they provide. These skates are still fairly new so I can't judge how well they wear over time yet but they seem well-constructed and I've had good experiences with Bauer in the past. The staff member in the New Rochelle store was very helpful, taking the time to understand my needs and make sure I had the best fit with my skates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love em! Replacing a 30 year old pair of Bauer 2000's (yes I'm old) - Feet needed some new digs and these are just great. Love the new tech and the custom fit. In fact, wearing them right now as I type this (to further break in) - Have skated about 6 hours in them so far and very very happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect Skates! Purchased for my son - a first year Bantam, these are replacing older X 500 which is pretty much the same skates. Only drawback is the blade tool was not in the box! Probably someone sniped it prior to me receiving. I’ll ask PH for a replacement tool. A great sale price!

I’m flat footed, trying to get back into ice hockey it’s been years I have in-line mission no’s 6 for in-line and the lace bite is horrible was told since Bauer owns mission it’s a very similar boot is this true?

Asked by: Evan22
You may want to come into one of our stores to be fit. I do not believe the Vapor line would be a great fit if you are experiencing depth issues with a Mission skate. We can help find what skate fits you the best if you swing by a Pure Hockey.

What length laces should be used for these skates (just to have a spare).

Asked by: Katfri24
The length of laces will depend on the size skates you have. Below is the typical rule of thumb when it comes to lace sizing. 72" Youth 8.0 - 1.5 84" 2.0 - 3.5 96" 4.0 - 5.5 108" 6.0 - 8.5 120" 9.0 - 11.5 132" 12.0 - 15.0 Thanks!

When it says low-volume foot dimensions, does that mean no good for a high instep?

Asked by: Buff
You may find that your foot depth is too much for the Vapor skate. Something like the Supreme or Nexus could fit better depending on your foot shape. We hope you will be able to visit one of our stores to try some on soon. Thanks!

What level is this skate made for? Could it be for an intermediate player?

Asked by: Ann87
This is a lower mid level skate that would be best for someone skating an average of 1-3 times a week.
