The Bauer Vapor X2.9R inline skates built for the performance level player who skates 2-3 times a week and is looking for fit and performance but doesn’t want to spend at the top of the market price.
When choosing a new pair of skates, it is important to place a focus on fit. If you’re unsure which skate line and model fits your foot best, or if you’re looking for an accurate measurement and assessment, visit your local Pure Hockey. Bauer’s Vapor skate line features low-profile models, including the Vapor X2.9R, best suited for players with low-volume foot dimensions. Bauer implements its PERFORMFLEX System into the X2.9R, designed for better comfort, fit, and overall performance.
Included in the PERFORMFLEX system is a 3D Lasted Tech Mesh quarter package. The benefits of such construction are support and thermoformability for an optimal fit and improved skating performance. Inside the boot, Bauer combines Comfort Edge and Aero Foam padding for added support, as well as some personalized comfort in the ankle thanks to the thermoformable properties of these technologies.
The Vapor X2.9R skate includes a hydrophobic microfiber liner and Bauer’s Form-Fit+ footbed. The liner is designed for a soft feel and holds moisture management properties to help wick sweat away and promote foot lockage in the boot. Additionally, the footbed is lined with memory foam to give a true comfort feel as soon as you step in the skate.
The tongue is felt with an injected metatarsal guard for solid protection, comfort, and good flexibility when skating.
Under the boot, a clear TPU, non-woven outer sole supports a Hi-LO aluminum chassis. This frame uses two 76-mm wheels in the front and two 80-mm wheels in the back, giving the skater an increased attack angle for more speed and control, using the advantages that come with both small and large wheels.
Speaking of wheels, Bauer uses Labeda Unions. These wheels use a large injection-molded core for enhanced speed, combined with a soft compression apex ring for maximum grip and unmatched edge to edge feel. The result is a supremely fast wheel with great striding and stopping power.
With enough high-end technologies, the Vapor X2.9R is an excellent choice for the player looking for a performance skate at a mid-range price point.
