90 Day Satisfaction Guarantee on CCM Tacks 9080 Ice Hockey Skates.

The CCM Tacks 9080 ice hockey skate offers pro-level construction, durability, and performance at about half the price of premium skates. The quarter package and tongue feature elite materials that will impress the elite-level skater who can’t or doesn’t want to pay an elite price for a pair of high-performing skates.

  • SpeedBlade 4.0 with SpeedRib technology for geometric stiffness
  • Removable SpeedBlade stainless steel runners for bite and durability
  • Reinforced Pro TPU vented outsole for composite-level performance
  • RocketFrame Composite quarter package for lightweight, thermoformable stiffness
  • Smooth Contour collar pads for ankle-abrasion protection
  • 10mm double-stitched felt tongue for pro-level comfort and protection
  • Total-Dri dual-zone liner for premium dry comfort
  • DuraZone abrasion patches for liner longevity
  • Anatomical Response footbed for vented, contoured support

CCM uses its SpeedBlade 4.0 holder with SpeedRib technology in the Tacks 9080 skate. The holder’s unique, geometrical design harnesses the power of triangles to reduce torsional stiffness and increase stride-power transfers. The 9080 model also includes removable SpeedBlade stainless steel runners for durable bite. The holder boasts one of the most aggressive turning radiuses in hockey and connects to the Reinforced Pro TPU outsole. The outsole’s concave design adds additional rigidity to the skate, and the reinforced TPU provides composite-level stiffness for maximum energy transfers. The vent allows moisture to escape the boot for a dry in-game feel and a quicker post-game dry time.

The Tacks 9080 quarter package is made with RocketFrame Composite, a pro-level, extremely lightweight material that’s also thermoformable. The inner stiffness of the SpeedCore II, combined with the new lasting, or molding, process, creates an improved anatomical fit even before baking the skate for the final and ultimate custom fit. Because the boot is so stiff, CCM includes Smooth Contour collar pads to help reduce aggravating high-ankle abrasions—a common problem in stiff, high-end boots. The skate gets extra durability in the toe, eyelet facing, and a lot of double stitching in the tongue and the traditionally stiff tendon guard.

The tongue features an extremely thick, 10mm felt (the only Tacks skate with this specification), with dual-density, center-injected foams and an embossed lace-bite guard. Taken together, these attributes in the tongue offer premium, pro-level comfort, protection, and fit—and the embossing will help keep the laces in place for a consistently accurate wrap.

The Tacks 9080 includes CCM’s pro-level Total-Dri liner. The dual-zone textures not only provide comfort but also help lock in the foot for a stable, secure fit. The Total-Dri liner wicks away unvented moisture, and the heel pockets feature padding for additional comfort and security. DuraZone abrasion patches help prolong the liner's life for players who position their shin guards beneath the skate’s tongue. The footbed in the 9080 is Tack’s Anatomical Response model that provides comfortable, contoured support but is also vented for additional dryness.

The Tacks 9080, like all Tacks skates, offers a medium-volume fit for players with standard forefoot, instep, and heel-depth dimensions. But that’s all that’s standard about the skate. The 9080 is truly a pro-level skate, using specs preferred by some of today’s big-name skaters, like Connor McDavid. Considering that the skates cost about half the price of top-end offerings, skaters will enjoy a ton of performance and value when they choose the CCM Tacks 9080.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable, very happy Hi, I purchased these just last week. I bought them because of I was suffering lace bite with my old skates for 2 months. I spent 3 hours trying different skates before I chose these. They were the most comfortable and had a very thick tongue. So far so good, no lace bite pain at all with these :-) , but I have only skated twice. So far VERY happy with my choice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent skates My daughter is on the ice a minimum of three time a week for games and practice. Skates baked well and I have seen a noticeable improvement in her skating. She finds them comfortable and has no issue being on the ice for a couple hours practicing and doing drills. An excellent step up from entry level skates.
