The Eddy Custom LT Pro Spec is, quite simply, one of the most protective goalie masks on the planet.  Innovations in shell design and foam construction give this mask a fit and finish that is nearly unmatched in the goalie mask industry.

The shell is made of Eddy's multi-resin system, and also utilizes their proprietary solid sheet technology. The result of this construction process is a shell molded that achieves the optimum balance between resin and fiberglass to achieve an increbibly strong, rigid shell. In addition to the fiberglass composition, a full sheet of carbon fiber further enhances shell rigidity to make it incredibly strong.

Shell rigidity is further enhanced by a new shell design that is sharper, and that has more pronounced ribs in the forehead and the chin. The more pronounced rib design also serves to eliminate flat spots in the mask, meaning that pucks will simply glance off of the main impact areas and will not impact the shell directly. For added protection, Kevlar and additional fiberlass have been added to the forehand and chin areas. The skull plate spans the entire width of the mask to keep it from compressing during heavy side loads.

The real story behind the Custom LT Pro Spec, however, lies in Eddy's proprietary "CTS" system.  This system is comprised of two carbon fiber sheets that are mechanically glued together, with a pocket of air sandwiched between the two sheets.  Addtionally, a stainless steel screen sits atop the carbon fiber to provide additional protection.  This system sits beneath the main shell and atop the interior mask foam to create "a shell within a shell" at the forehead and crown.  And, because this shell gives somewhat when in contact with the head, it helps snug the overall fit of the mask to make it extremely comfortable.

The mask interior features a dual density foam which is 1/2" thick at the forehead and 3/8" thick at the crown, skull plate and sides. The foam layers are comprised of a higher density 8lb black foam that sits against the shell, and a softer blue urethane foam that touches the goalie's head and face. The black foam provides great impact resistance, and the blue foam is great for energy absorbtion and comfort, and it also serves to "grab" the goalie's head and face during impacts to help keep the mask from shifting.

The window opening of the Custom LT Pro Spec is cut deeper to give the goalie better sightlines and unobstructed peripheral vision. A stainless steel non-certified cat-eye cage comes standard.  This mask is not HECC or CSA approved, and is not approved for use by youths aged 18 and under.
