Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most Reasonable Purchase This net is probably the smartest net to buy. Indoors, the backstop will stop the puck from hitting walls, ect. Outdoors the backstop prevents you from losing pucks (as intended) VERY well. The targets helped improve my game, I started to notice progress within days of having it. It is fairly durable, after all, you get what you pay for, but this is money well spent. I'll admit, I was iffy about buying this net at first because of some of the people who were saying the the pipes dented, but I have not seen a single dent taking 55-70 mph shots at it, nothing but marks from the rubber. In the long run, this net will probably get you the most bang for your buck, and I would definitely recommend it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase Just set this up in the backyard for the family, we have two boys who play, and my wife & I also are in leagues. Since I set it up, the boys have been outside non stop shooting pucks. Assembly of the goal is not hard, but putting the nets on can be time consuming. The entire time I was stringing the net on I kept saying to myself, "they couldn't have figured out an easier way to do this?" But I digress, once it was done and we started firing pucks, I didn't care anymore. We really like that it can fold for storage, also very cool that it comes with targets to shoot at, so you don't need to buy extra accessories for this. Solid purchase, the family is very happy with this goal.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Well made, but a pain to setup! Looks like a really nice piece of equipment. The setup is insane though. I've only known much less sophisticated goals with simple velcro nets. Of course those nets only last about a year and there is no comparison with this net, which appears to be much better quality. However, having to lace EACH net is massive pain. The instructions could use a bit more detail in terms of what type of knot would be best where, how to lace in the corners of the goal, etc. A link to a setup video in greater detail would be even better and maybe include some zip-ties for holding the net in place while you lace!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it This is a great net. I have two boys, age 12 and 10. They love it. The dimensions, other then the depth are regulation. Its very sturdy and can withstand slapshots with ice hockey pucks. The only negative is the assembly takes time. The goal assembly is easy, but the net is a pain and the directions are only ok. Use plastic ties on the corners prior to threading the net, then cut off the ties. Assembly took me 3-4 hours, mainly because I had to re-do the net several times. But its a great net once you get past the pain of assembly!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Practice Net For My Son I purchased this net to help my son's game and it definitely helps him hit the corners + it saves my basement walls from shots because of the backstop. Pretty happy with the quality. Saw an independent review on youtube that shows hard adult slapshots can make holes in the net--a trick to help this is to try not to make the backstop nets too taut (I believe). I definitely recommend doing a parts inventory before putting it all together--we found that we got an extra frame piece but were missing another frame piece. We sent a pic to customer support and it was handled fairly quickly (had to call too, seems like a small company), so that was appreciated and good thing to report. It takes some time to put together and weave the net--the instructions were good (read them). Definitely worth the $150.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome net and backstop! Ended up buying this after doing a lot of research on other nets. Happy to have bought this one, really an awesome net and backstop. Very solid. Has held up to hard shots with a puck without denting. Pockets are great for accuracy games.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great practice net !! Love the surround net .love the target pockets .. The netting is top notch ..Folds up nice as well.. The only problem is ... You will destroy the net and dent the pipes with a slap shot .. I dented the pipe with a wrist shot with a plastic puck ..So using a real puck is not advised ..You will dent the pipe .. But for the cost .. its better than a $800 goal ..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NICE PRODUCT, FAIR PRICE I bought this a few weeks ago. It came in one heavy box. It was very well packaged and had no damage in transit. I have to say that it's pretty well made, not perfect or close to it. BUT the instructions were VERY poor. They came in French and English. The drawings were very vague and showed very little detail, and the explanation of how it was supposed to be put together were confusing. Furthermore the "ropes" were too short and I had to purchase more from a vendor on Amazon because of this. Another 20 feet would've made life easier. Back to the instructions though: They were written in a story fashion and not a "list" format. It reminded me of the math word problems in high school (not written by an engineer IMO). Also the numbers in the instructions didn't match the "figure numbers" or if they did I am not smart enough to figure it out. There were a few steps that I had to do a couple of times because I could see that it wasn't' going together correctly. Another issue was that a couple of the pipes were mistagged with the wrong numbers, and another issue is in the design. The vinyl "skirt" along the bottom sits about an inch or more above the back so IMO it's misplaced and doesn't do the job that it's supposed to do. A suggestion would be to make the netting material for the actual net (not the sides) a couple of rows bigger so that the netting doesn't have to be stretched so taut and tight. What I invision happening is that the rope that holds the nets will cut into the edge of the net and eventually fray and cut thru it. In the end though. The overall design could've been done to make for less twists and turns like redesigning the ridge welded along the bottom pipe(s) that holds the net with ropes. If they used the type that are used on basketball hoop nets it would've saved rope and a lot of aggravation. I have it 4 stars because I enjoy shooting on it and my grandkids will love it when they come over to play.

How durable are the pipes and net?

I want to get this net and sides for my son to help him with his game but I want to be sure he won't be able to dent the pipes or ruin the net with his wrist or slap shot. What type of puck should he use on this product?
Asked by: Hkydad19
If he wants to get better at shooting, use an ice puck so that way when he gets on the ice he uses the same type of puck in games.

I would not classify it as an easy breakdown/set up net but it can be transferred to and from places with no real issues.
