Pure Hockey Says: The Skate Fenders offers great low-profile protection to the front and sides of your skates. They are cut down, focusing the protection on the tongue and ankle areas making them lighter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every cent Pro: -Quality: the molding is solid. I have been hacked and been hit by numerous pucks, and have felt nothing. -Easy to use: they just strap on the top of your skate. I was worried at first that I would feel them when I skated, but I do not even notice them. -Great Value: protects your feet... you won't feel a thing. Also, protects your skates... they'll last considerably longer. Totally worth the money. Cons: Quality: I have only one complaint about this product. The velcro and plastic rings are garbage. If you are an active skater, you will need to replace them. Velcro and little rings are not a very difficult commodity to find so it's not the end of the world.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I'm on my second pair of these, they are Great! My first pair lasted about 3 years then one of them was shattered by a slapshot. My foot was sore for about 2 weeks as opposed to the undoubtedly months I would've been out with a broken foot. I've been wearing the second pair for about 7 years now, still work fine. My first pair were clear, so blended perfectly with the ice. When it got shattered I tried my best to find all the pieces cuz we all know what would happen if we step on a little piece of acrylic on ice. The second pair are tinted so if they break you can find all those pieces. They're Very tough, I've been hit in the feet at least 20 times, several slap shots, and they're still ticking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the feet The straps need to be addressed. Mine were way too long and I had to trim and re-sew them on (well, my wife did). And they should end on the inside of the skates so they are more easily removable. I have to butterfly my legs to remove the velcro strap - Hasek I am not. Otherwise a great product - saves my feet about once per game. Why aren't they clear though?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth Every Penny I play defense most of the time and have taken plenty of shots off the skates. I figured it might be good insurance to give these a try. Since buying these I've taken a couple hard shots off the skates and I barely felt it. They fit my skates well. While skating I don't even know I'm wearing them. Yes, the bottom velcro strap is a bit long but I just use some shin guard tape to keep the loose extra amount secured to the fender to keep it from flapping around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb! I wanted to wait a few games before writing this review just to make sure they were worth the purchase. The answer is YES. I have taken several shots off of my foot since wearing these and I have not limped or bruised following those days. I was a little worried about them affecting my skating but once they are on I don't even realize they are there. Well, unless you need to tighten your skate during the game but that is rare for myself. If you are on the fence like I was, it is well worth the money to jump off and buy these bad boys!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not clear but tinted. The first thing i noticed was they have a considerable tint to them and arnt clear or near as clear as they appear in the photos....buuut they work and thats what matter. Worth the 80.00 bucks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, understandably don't last forever I bought a set to replace my first pair that broke. I used my first set for ~2 years, twice a week, playing old man beer league hockey. a crack started on one of them towards the top, and with a subsequent puck impact, cracked in two. I figure I'd rather break one of these than my foot (again). My only negative comments about using these is that I had some ankle squeeze when they were new (bought large, for size 9 1/2 skates), and on occasion the straps came loose while skating. I got into the habit of checking them between shifts to keep from skating/falling on the straps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every cent Playing Defense, I block a lot of shots. I hadn't really thought about getting something like these until I took a slapshot that had me out two weeks. Out of caution I ordered a pair, and honestly can't tell I'm wearing them. Their very light, don't pinch your skates, and I haven't felt a shot since I started wearing them. While they are relatively expensive, they're a lot cheaper than an ER X-Ray or missing games.

Asked by: bladerunner13
Small/Medium - fits most skate boots from senior size 8 down to junior size 5 (or even smaller depending on boot width and style) Large - fits most boots from size 8 and larger. Boot style and width are factors that may affect fit
