Introducing the TRUE Hockey Dynamic 9 Pro hockey helmet, featuring ultra-lightweight construction with MIPS Brain Protection System and a personalized fit.

TRUE’s patented MIPS Brain Protection System utilizes a low friction layer designed to reduce rotational motion transferred to the brain from angled impacts to the head. MIPS is designed to not only protect the skull but the brain as well.

MIPS is a Swedish brain protection company that has seen their world-renown brain protection system in bicycle, ski and motorcycle helmets. MIPS has taken their patented technology and partnered with TRUE Hockey to bring you a one of a kind hockey helmet.

The ultra-lightweight construction of the helmet is made possible by a one-piece polypropylene (EPP) shell. TRUE has constructed the Dynamic 9 Pro to be the lightest helmet in its class without sacrificing any of the necessary protective elements.

EPP Foam can be found inside the helmet helping to dampen blows to the head all while adding comfort. Speaking of comfort, TRUE has designed the Dynamic 9 Pro to have a truly personalized fit. The helmet comes standard with interchangeable side and rear occipital Fitpads. These Fitpads are available in three different thicknesses and allow for 360 degrees of adjustability and a truly personalized fit. This adjustable feature can make the helmet up to 5% larger or smaller according to the player's needs.

The hockey helmet is arguably the most important piece of equipment in terms of safety. Experts state that concussions are mainly due to acceleration or deceleration of the brain. While helmets may not prevent concussions caused by these forces, they are crucial to limiting injuries of all kinds on the ice. Because of this, TRUE along with MIPS Brain Protection System will help keep you comfortable and protected while you play.

When purchasing new protective equipment, especially a hockey helmet, it is vital to find the right fit. Without the proper fit, even the most technologically advanced helmet will not be effective. But finding the model and size that fits your head correctly will ensure the protective features will be able to do their job. If you’re unsure which helmet fits you best, or you’re looking for an accurate measurement and assessment, visit your local Pure Hockey store.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beware if you use a cage Bought this helmet for the MIPS protection, but was very disappointed to find that most (no?) cages fit this helmet well. I was able to get a Bauer ReAkt Cage to kind of fit, but not without putting the J clips so high that they bent outward because they were up against the lip of the helmet. The finishing of the helmet from a basic aesthetics standpoint isn't great either. There is all kinds of excess glue residue visible on the helmet. Bottom line if you are paying $250 USD and over $300 CAD for a helmet, you expect top of the line everything - from protection to look and definitely should not have to drill additional screw holes to get a cage to fit like others have suggested. I ended up returning mine and went with a Bauer

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sweat sponge I got this helmet a few weeks ago first game it was fine, had to make some adjustments with the inner foam pieces to get a better fit. Second game worked fine. Third game I was sweating like crazy and the foam inserts worked as a sponge with sweat and every time I adjusted the helmet the insert would let the sweat go and drench my face. Not sure what to do now. Return it. ???

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really like the fit. Great fit and really nice to be able to switch out the pads on the inside. Definitely try it on before you buy had a large helmet before and went with the True Medium. Also the questions about shields i can confirm my bauer cage from my old helmet does not fit quite right so i will have to get a new one and will have to go to pure hockey to make sure i get the right fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect! My son is on the border size of M/L. His head is exactly 59cm. I went with L. I had to sew two sets of pads together to achieve the correct fit. He argued at first but admitted I was right afterwards. Adding the bubble wasn’t as tricky as the reviews lead me to believe. My least favorite thing was the glue they use on the giant sticker on the back. It doesn’t peel off easy and I ended up covering most of it in the end. My son is trying it at a checking clinic today.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Protection Bought this helmet for my son as he has had 2 concussions in the past 3 years. The construction of the helmet is definitely at another level compared to others and the MIPS technology is great. Its a no brainer to protect of of the most important areas of your body! Gave 4 stars instead of 5 only due to True not offering a cage & it was somewhat difficult to get a Baur cage to fit. CCM cages were even harder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this helmet I have had this helmet for a season now and the fit is great. The cage issue was fixed by using two small washers and then snipping part of the j clips. I use the fitlite titanium cage. Yes, the pads hold sweat so I just carry a towel but I did that before this helmet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Only helmet that doesn't hurt my son's head! After trying numerous helmets from Warrior, Bauer, and CCM with all of them making my son's head hurt, we got this True helmet. It's the only one he hasn't complained about. My only complaint though is that the back removable pad, the velcro piece that is supposed to be affixed to the helmet (that holds the pad) keeps coming off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light and comfortable, just a little large. Very light, very comfortable. Reminds me of my old Easton E700s. Even suffers the same issue too, where the sweat pads fall apart after about 1 week... other than that, I'd wear it all day every day. I did pull my sweat pads and sewed them together and it makes a big difference.

What’s the best cage to match up with this for the Sr. small size? Everything I’ve tried is too wide and side clips don’t match up. Is True planning to release a cage soon?

Asked by: JustHockey
We found that you may need to change up the J-clips that are used when mounting your cage to this helmet. No word on a True cage just yet but if they do offer one and we sell it we will make sure to update our web page. Thanks!

Will the Bauer Concept III and Hybrid shields fit this helmet?

Asked by: Haymaker
Fitting cages and visors to this helmet has been a little tricky. Some J-clips don't work as well as others, we find the longer J-clips to work much better than the shorter J-clips that sometimes come with Bauer facemasks. Please come into a Pure Hockey or pro shop for some help with this. Thanks!
