The Bauer Nexus N2900 offers elite performance and playability in a performance-level stick that costs about half the price of most top-end sticks. A whole host of new technologies makes the N2900 a contender for the best performing stick at an affordable price point.

  • R2 resin system and BimaX 3K carbon fiber twill for a strong, more responsive feel
  • Sweet Spot Technology mid-kick for powerful, effortless releases
  • Max Balance Technology for higher balance point and quick releases
  • AeroFoam I Core for a lighter, more durable blade

The N2900 feels very comfortable in the hands thanks to slightly rounded corners and concave sidewalls. The stick benefits from Bauer’s R2 resin system that offers good durability but doesn’t sacrifice feel. The stick also enjoys a big upgrade with Bauer’s 3K carbon fiber twill material. Compared with the Unidirectional carbon fiber used in the N2700, the N2900 is about 20 percent stronger without sacrificing responsiveness and feel.

The construction process has also been upgraded with a high-performance mold as compared with the fused two-piece technologies used in previous Bauer sticks. The shaft wall thickness is much more consistent throughout for a more efficient and effective transfer of energy for a true one-piece feel as players take their shots.

The N2900 uses Bauer’s Sweet Spot Technology that drives their versatile mid-kick, ideal for players looking for a powerful, effortless release. The Nexus is Bauer’s jack-of-all-trades hockey stick in that it falls between the Supreme line’s high kick, ideal for power shooters, and the Vapor line’s low kick, great for quick release shooters. The versatile Nexus line offers players the best of both worlds. The N2900 also makes use of a secondary taper that’s engineered at the top and bottom of the shaft, increasing puck control and shot accuracy due to the stick’s improved strength and torsional resistance.

The N2900 also offers players the Bauer Griptac stick coating that will lock in a player’s hands and help give them the ultimate control.

The blade on the N2900 uses Bauer’s new Max Balance Technology, an upgrade over previous generations’ construction, providing a higher balance point and quicker shot release. The blade is also lighter and more durable thanks to Bauer’s AeroFoam I Core with BimaX 3K Carbon Fiber Wrap, a dual-material internal foam. The blade’s edges are now reinforced while the strategic layering of the fiber reduces the stick’s bottom-end weight without sacrificing durability or strength. When you play, you’ll notice a higher balance point, so the stick will feel lighter in the hands and you’ll enjoy a shot release that’s up to seven percent faster compared to the release in the old Nexus 2 stick. The BimaX 3K carbon fiber weave is very strong and durable. When combined with the AeroFoam I Core, the BimaX 3K results in a puck-feel on the blade that players will love.

The senior 87 flex weighs 438 grams, a 20-gram weight reduction from the previous generation.

Overall, Bauer’s Nexus N2900 hockey stick offers tremendous versatility and a great, balanced feel thanks to the Sweet Spot Technology and the new Max Balance blade. The Nexus N2900 feels like a top-line stick but costs only about half the price. Performance-level skaters are sure to like what they feel when they pick one up.

2017 Bauer Blade Pattern Chart

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Impressed I have been a low flex stick user for years. I was a big fan of the Easton Mako, and recently using the Vapor 900 Lite. The Vapor lite I was in love with, but when Vapor switch to the elliptical shaft like the Easton S19 I was disappointed.Having an S19 the stick was great for wrist shots and that was about it. So I was in the need to switch models once again.Giving Nexus a chance was a great decision. I was finding more accuracy in my shot selection than the Vapor 900 lite. Reminded me of the Mako when I first used them, but with a better blade. Looking forward to seeing how long the stick will last and be this consistent with pop and accuracy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievable Stick for the Price Replaced a 2N Pro that broke 2 months after purchase. As per the reviews of the 2N Pro, I refused to purchase another. I have been using the N2900 now for 2 weeks and I am unable to tell the difference between the N2900 and the 2N Pro in performance!! It is an unbelievable stick for the price! Best bang for the buck!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unreal Stick Stick cannot be beaten for the price. Came from a Jetspeed Pro which is about the same price, this stick is lighter, better feel in the blade, and a true mid flex. You can't go wrong with this stick. I couldn't imagine stepping all the way up to the 2N when this is already so good for half the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stick at a good value I picked this up as a warranty replacement for a Supreme 2S Team Stick I broke the blade on after only using it one time. I got the 2900 in a 87flex P92 Curve and I have to say the release is fairly quick for a mid kick stick. I cut down my sticks about 1.5-2.5 inches typically and even still this 87 flex stick feels as whippy as a 75 flex stick when shooting. Wrist and snap shots come off the blade quick and my clappers are heavy. A great all-around stick for a balanced player who has varying shots in their arsenal. Blade feels solid so far and no twisting while shooting!

What flex should you expect cutting this stick (77 flex) to an intermediate length?

Asked by: wileyad
There is a 3 inch difference between the senior and intermediate sticks. I find that every inch adds about 3 flex points. I would expect this stick to be about an 87 flex. Thanks!
