The Bauer Vapor 2X Team ice hockey stick is designed for the performance-level playmakers, with plenty of high-level features at a great value.

  • Low-kick point for a quick release
  • XE Taper technology for enhanced performance
  • High Performance Mold for a true one-piece feel
  • MaxBalance blade for better balance and durability

There are many factors to consider when purchasing a new hockey stick. And while many different features will have an impact on your performance, it is important to place an initial focus on kick point. Finding the right kick point for you will help take your shot, and your overall on-ice performance, to the next level. If you’re unsure which kick point suits your game best, or you’re looking for an accurate assessment, visit your local Pure Hockey.

The 2019 Vapor line features low-kick sticks constructed to give you a quick release. Bauer has specifically designed these sticks for the players who most often take quick-motion shots, shoot close to the net, and prefer release speed over pure power. While the 2X Team stick is built with fewer top-end technologies than the Vapor Flylite or 2X Pro, it still includes some high-level features to enhance the low-kick point and improve your shot.

One top-of-the-line feature included in the Vapor 2X Team is the all new XE Taper. Bauer has redesigned this taper using an elliptical geometry which provides more strength in the blade, a softer hosel, and reduced weight by limiting the amount of carbon fiber layers needed in this area. The result is a taper that amplifies the low-kick point construction, giving you the stability, responsiveness, and quick release you’re looking for.

For the 2X Team construction, Bauer uses their High Performance Mold. The HP Mold provides a balanced energy transfer through the entire stick, from shaft to blade, to give you a true one-piece feel, enhancing the overall performance of the stick to improve your shooting, passing, and stick handling. For the shaft construction, Bauer implements Carbon UD and the MicroFeel II shaft dimension, offering a lightweight design and a good overall feel.

The 2X Team stick blade includes some high-level features for lightweight performance. The blade is constructed with MaxBalance technology, also found in the 2X Pro model. MaxBalance strategically layers added carbon fiber in the blade for more strength without weighing down the stick, while also reinforcing the edges for increased durability. And true to its name, this technology provides excellent balance throughout the blade so your shots stay consistently quick. The blade design also features 3K Carbon Fiber and Bauer’s Aero Foam I blade core for added durability and improved control.

The Bauer Vapor 2X Team stick is a lightweight, high-performing option for this price point. While players who skate 2 to 3-plus times per week are encouraged to upgrade to a top-end model if they want to experience the best technologies Bauer has to offer, the Vapor 2X Team stick is built for this level and frequency of play, with all the features you’ll need to take quick shots and improve your game.

2019 Bauer Curve Chart

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Value On the Market This stick as well as the X900 before it are in my opinion the best value for a hockey stick on the market. In my searching, to get a stick of this weight (roughly 430 grams) you typically need to spend around $200. I know not everybody prioritizes weight, but if you prefer a lighter stick or would like to try something lighter than what you currently have then this is the best bang for your buck you are going to get. Durable and responsive as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Some ugly graphics but a terrific stick. Only have 2 games with it but it has that pop like the old Easton RS2 which is exactly why I bought this. I'm betting it will have very average durability like the RS2 did due to the oval shaft but i don't care, worth every penny. Hated the 1x, love this 2x Team for the price cant be beat

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not great graphics but what a ripper for cheap This is such a great stick for the price point... the feel of the puck the accuracy of shots the velocity that comes off this twig is sick... I don’t play high enough level to pay 300 plus for a stick but this is the closest I’ve gotten and it’s ridiculous probably added an extra 10 mph to my shot... GREAT in close and perfect for a quick shot! I will be buying more

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great stick! I bought this stick about a month ago and I’m glad I did! The low kick-point allows me to get my shot off quickly and accurately. I’d rate it 5 stars but I’m not a big fan of grip shafts, although this one is not as tacky as others I tried.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stick If you like a light weight stick for under $175 buy this one. I would buy another. Love the response and weight of this stick. I also do not see very many on the ice when I play which I like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scored 5 goals In 2 games with THIS Stick I bought this late last months and the blade feel is a tad different than my previous stick, the X700 Lite, but my shots are a little more accurate and deadly. I scored 4 goals in one freaking game with this sick stick. LOVE IT

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok stick if you need a back up to your back up I was really excited to give this stick a whirl. I’ve got a couple games with it. Construction seems good so far. But it’s really been a let down as I loved the elliptical tapered eastons from back in the day. One would assume there would have been some advancement and additional features added to a mid tier stick from the decade old top line stealth. Puck feel is nearly non existent, shot response and accuracy are unpredictable and inconsistent. For comparison: My last hand full of sticks were a Verbero cypress I scored on clearance for $70 ( a gamble on a cheap stick that ended up being one of my favorite sticks of all time) 2 New old stock 9 year old Easton eq50s( the best stick ever made IMO) , and a True xc9 acf. All of which put this stick to shame, even after they were wipped out and deteriorated. All same flex and curve. I’ll give it another skate of two before I cut my losses and sell it. 2 stars for quality because it’s not enjoyable to use. 3 stars for value because the price is nice but at the same time I feel like I just wasted $150 when I’d be better off using a dead stick from the pile in my basement

If I’m 5-‘1 what stick would you recommend? Junior or senior?

Asked by: mmma
You may find a junior to be your best bet. An intermediate could be a good happy medium between junior and senior depending on your build or preferences. Thanks!

How do I know how long it is? I’m 5’7. And this is my first stick so I’m knew to the process

Asked by: Ryan franklin
This stick is 60" tall and a little tall for you. You may need to cut it and you would be fine with that or you may want to look at an intermediate stick depending on the flex you need. Thanks!
