This year Bauer has pushed performance to another level with the introduction of the PowerFly Holder, increasing player’s takeoff acceleration and side to side transitions through the various flex points. The front post of the holder is rigid, increasing energy transfer in every stride for faster acceleration. The hyperbolic stability bar increases balance for quicker transitions, and the responsive back post promotes faster side to side transitions.
The blade channel is also modified to incorporate hyperbolic geometry, improving the integration of the steel and holder, lowering the stress on the trigger during impacts. With the new hyperbolic geometry comes the new FLY-X steel, the direct replacement to the Pulse Steel and the titanium coded FLY-TI, the direct replacement to the PULSE-TI. The new steel types are compatible for both the new PowerFly holder and the Lightspeed Edge holder. It is important to note that the previous generation Lightspeed Edge steel is not compatible with the new PowerFly holder.
Bauer optimized the Hyperflex outsole, which was found in the previous HyperLite model, by using denser materials in the back portion of the skate. These optimizations give additional confidence to the players using them during tight turns and puck battles.
Another improvement from the previous generation HyperLite skate is the Aerolite 2.0 tongue. Bauer improved the comfort where the tongue and ankle interact by adding comfort edge. This alleviates the pressure point on the ankles, while still maintaining flexibility and performance.
The Hyperflex eyelets are reinforced in this year’s HyperLite 2 skate to improve overall durability. Internally, Bauer used LockFit Pro liner, engineered for performance to keep your foot dry and locked in place.
The all-new HyperLite 2 skate offers a great combination of new technologies and trusted features, providing players with a pair of flexible, lightweight skates that aid in improved agility and flexibility with each stride. We recommend these skates to elite level players who are on the ice 4-5+ times per week. For more information on the entire 2023 Vapor line check our 2023 Bauer Vapor Skate blog.
The Fly-TI and Fly-X runners are compatible for both the new PowerFly Holder and the original Lightspeed Edge Holder. The Pulse TI and Pulse runners are NOT compatible with the new Powerfly Holder.
Note: Runners will arrive in separate packaging and require simple installation.
Fly-TI Runners
The Fly-TI runners are a direct replacement to the Pulse TI. This steel has a titanium outer coating, increased height and an ultra premium core for better performance and edge retention.

Fly-X Runners
The Fly-X runners are a direct replacement to the Pulse. This steel has a high polished mirror finish, increased height and premium core materials for enhanced on ice glide, and great performance and durability.
