The Bauer Vapor X2.7 ice hockey stick is a lightweight option at this price point, with plenty of features and technologies to help the performance or recreational player take quick shots.

  • Low-kick point for a fast release
  • QRT technology for enhanced shot quickness
  • UD Carbon Fiber construction for solid durability
  • MaxBalance blade for improved consistency

Whether you’re an elite player or new-to-hockey skater, there are many factors to consider when purchasing a new hockey stick. We at Pure Hockey recommend placing a focus on kick point. Finding the right kick point for your style of play will help take your shot to the next level and improve your overall game.  If you’re unsure which kick point is best for you, or you’re looking for an accurate assessment, visit your local Pure Hockey store.

Like the rest of the 2019 Vapor line, the X2.7 stick features a low-kick point built for quickness. if you’re the type of player who often takes quick-motion shots, shoots close to the net, and prefers release speed over power, the Vapor line proves to be an excellent choice to help enhance your game. The X2.7 does not include Bauer’s new XE Taper design like the rest of the line, but still features some quality technologies to help improve the performance benefits of this low-kick model.

The Vapor X2.7 includes Bauer’s trusted QRT technology. Carried over from the previous generation’s higher-end models like the X900 stick, this taper design improves recoil speed by keeping energy in the lower part of the shaft, helping to get the puck off the blade as fast as possible. While Bauer has redesigned their taper construction for the top-end Vapor models this year, QRT still proves to be a dynamic technology that will help players get their shots off quick.

For the construction of the Vapor X2.7, Bauer uses UD carbon fiber in the shaft and blade. The unidirectional material offers a good balance of durability and performance, keeping the stick strong without adding too much weight to the structure. The Vapor X2.7 is a fused two-piece construction, but thanks to the technologies included in the design, this stick still provides solid balance and a good overall feel.

The blade construction includes MaxBalance technology, also featured in the Vapor 2X Pro stick. MaxBalance strategically layers added carbon fiber in the blade for more strength and balance without weighing down the stick, while also reinforcing the edges for increased durability.

Any skater, regardless of level or frequency of play, is encouraged to upgrade to one of the top-end Vapor sticks if he or she wants to experience ultimate performance and the best technologies Bauer has to offer. But if you’re a player who skates a couple times per week and is looking for a quality stick at a great value, the Vapor X2.7 proves to be a great choice.

2019 Bauer Curve Chart

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty good twig... Having just gotten back into hockey after a 15-20 year hiatus I was shocked to see the way twigs have evolved. Great flex, durable, good puck feel and super light. As I am sure to break a few as I acclimate myself to how the sport has changed I didn't want to spend 300+ on something I was gonna haphazardly destroy. I felt like comparatively I was cheeping out getting this stick. Couldn't be further from the truth, I have been very pleased with it and will continue to use it for the near future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stick Great stick. Really quick release. I love the feel of it. Definitely a great choice without breaking the bank

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great backup stick/training aid Great stick that feels very similar to the other high end sticks in Bauer’s new Vapor lineup just a little heavier. I mainly use it as a backup and a training aid but this would make an excellent first stick for a newer or younger player.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too much flex Overall, it’s a solid feeling stick but once I got it on the ice, the stick felt “whippy.” Though the puck does jump off for shots, it’s not as ideal for my stick handling and passing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Stick - Horrible Blade I bought my first one of this model pre-pandemic, when things resumed noticed the blade chipping and cracking, forgot how long I had it and really liked the stick so decided to purchase another one, exact same everything.....blade split in half just over a month. Great stick if you have the income to keep buying a new one every 30-60 days.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Low quality blade Stick seems like a good value until the blade splits in half after 4th time using. The toe of the blade split into two pieces similar to what another reviewer reported. Otherwise a nice stick, but if only good for a few games the value quickly diminishes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Send it Not too bad. Picked it up on the way to an adult tournament as a backup and have used it about half of the time since. Good for someone looking for a fairly light low kick point stick at a reasonable price.

Is this stick "grippy" or sticky feeling?

Asked by: MMMMike
I would say this stick would be more of a grippy feel over sticky.
