The Tacks XF model, like the top-end Tacks XF Pro, features D3O smart material in key areas of the shoulder pads, providing premium impact protection and shock absorption. In the sternum and spine, D3O with molded HD foam is combined to offer maximum protection. 

In the shoulder caps, the XF features JDP cap construction with exposed foam, designed to disperse the force of impact away from the shoulders. The biceps feature injected plastic with length adjustable straps to offer a pro-level customized fit. 

CCM implements their Max Coverage Anatomical Shield Design with a lightweight breathable construction. This anatomical design prevents the shoulder pads from lifting so the protective features stay close to the body, acting as an extension of the torso.
