	LOWER COST - Many youth programs supply free-to-use equipment (or commonly referred to as "house equipment") as a benefit to new players. In situations where house equipment may not be available, the cost of entry has decreased dramatically. Modern entry-level equipment performs at a much higher level than just a few years ago - giving you more performance for less of your dollar.
	SAFETY - From smarter rules to smarter helmets, the game of hockey has experienced a changing of the guard in player safety and equipment design. Safety is the #1 priority for everyone involved, be it the governing body of USA Hockey to the manufacturer’s themselves.
	FUN - Hockey is fun and unlike any other sport out there. It is fast, exciting and dramatic. It is the ultimate team sport and is full of players and parents looking out for one another.
	TECHNOLOGY - From composite sticks to composite skates, modern equipment is more advanced than at any other time in hockey’s past, which helps beginning players learn to maximize their abilities more quickly.
	EASE OF ENTRY - Like any sport you get what you put in, but playing hockey doesn’t have to be overwhelming. There are thousands of just-for-fun, beginner's leagues that are perfect for casual fans or parents simply testing the waters.
	RESEARCH - Every year millions of dollars are invested in research and education initiatives aimed at finding ways to play the game safer – benefiting both players and parents alike.

Growing the Game's Grassroots:

We believe the best way for sustained health of the sport is through organic growth at the youth level. Our hunch is that by starting early, the love of the game will grow that much stronger.

Our efforts are three-fold:

Get equipment into the hands of those that need it most
Collaborate with hockey-community leaders to help offset costs of entry to the sport
Provide a superior experience for new players through personalized services

We believe growing deeper roots in the hockey community will ensure long-term viability.

We are in our fifth year of giving hockey equipment to deserving associations through partnership programs, grants and awards.

In areas, where we have store locations, we provide vouchers that are redeemed in store for new, quality starter gear including helmet with cage, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, pants, shin guards and player bag. In total, we have given away over $500,000 in new Learn To Play equipment over the last three years.
