One of the new features you will notice when picking up this stick is the reduced weight. Coming in at 390 grams, the X5 Pro is 25g lighter than the previous Vapor 3X Pro model. Bauer was able to reduce the weight of this stick by using Spread Tow Carbon fiber throughout the shaft and blade. This technology uses more premium carbon fiber layers on the interior of the stick. These layers are more strategically stacked making the stick lighter without sacrificing any durability.

A technology that is also found in the top-end HyperLite 2 is the XE Taper. With a unique elliptical geometry, this taper design provides more stability in the blade and a reduced overall weight. This, combined with the HP shaft construction, you’ll be able to increase your puck control, release speed and shot quickness.

In the blade, Bauer uses EnergyCore 3. When comparing this to the HyperCore 2, the difference is the thickness of the carbon bridges that are placed within the blade. These carbon bridges will add stability and help with overall puck control.
